All through my life I've had pets. During my childhood my family had a chicken, a goat, rabbits and of course a cat. In my adult life, I began fostering and volunteering at local rescues because my mission, truly, is to care for furbabies. I've helped The Humane Society, Route 66 Rescue, and am currently fostering and volunteering for Watching Over Whiskers. I have been through training at the Humane Society regarding proper care and handling of dogs and cats. With Route 66 Rescue, I fostered 4 dogs. All 4 came to me as tiny puppies so I understand what kind of care dogs off all ages require. With Watching Over Whiskers and The Humane Society, I gained experience caring for cats of all ages as well. My partner and I were just recently bottle feeding a tiny kitten until it found its forever home. I've also cared for a mama cat and her kittens through The Humane Society. I also, currently, am caring for multiple senior cats as well. In total, since buying my home in 2018 I have fostered 30 animals. I, of course, cared for animals prior to that but I had more control over my fostering abilities after purchasing my home and things really ramped up since then. In addition to the qualifications stated above, I have given medication to both dogs and cats orally and topically so I am comfortable doing that when necessary. I am also comfortable with some grooming tasks such a bathing and nail trimming for both dogs and cats.
