About Chaco Latte

Chaco is a sweet, loving dog. He is very good and smart. He listens, but can be stubborn. He knows the commands 'leave it', 'take', 'sit', 'down' (lay down), and 'off' Chaco normally likes to lay around or chew on a toy. He is cuddly and will love to lay in your lap or at your feet, especially if you have a reclining chair! Loves to wrestle with toy or with your hand. If he gets too rough, 'no biting' is the command we use. Sometimes it takes a few times for him to realize he is being too rough. If you say 'go get it' he will find a toy. (: Loves to play keep away, he grabs a toy and likes being chased. Loves to play fetch, will bring it back but you have to say 'leave it' or he will try to play chase. Chaco is very attached to me, Erica, and has a bit of separation anxiety. I'm sorry, he may bark when he hears noises or when left at first. He is okay, he needs practice being alone in a healthy setting. Can walk 1 mile or 20 minutes and is tired, he likes to walk. Please use his harness when walking.

  • Sex: Male
  • Age: 2 years old
  • Weight: 12lbs
  • Breed: Havanese
  • Tracking Chip: Yes
  • Neutered: Yes
  • House Trained: Yes
Goes to door to ring bells, or thinks he rings them and then lays by the door. Knows "potty" and "outside" as key words to go use the restroom.
  • Gets along with children: Yes
Loves children, especially small ones! Loves to watch them (he may be confused as to why the humans are so small! lol) and loves to play with them. He doesn't bite or jump on them. He will stand up and put front paws on, if he does say "Chaco off" and he gets down. For example: A 1 year old girl stepped on his tail, he was shocked and quickly turned to her, but did not bite or anything. Hes very sweet.
  • Gets along with other dogs: Yes
He takes a minute to warm up to new dogs. If they have too much energy, he gets nervous. He will run, hide, and put his tail between his legs. If he gets used to the dog or the dog calms down he will get better. He doesn't always play with other dogs, sometimes he just isn't interesting in playing and will just lay down or sit there. He gets nervous around large dogs, but gets used to them.
  • Gets along with cats: Yes
He tries to play with them, even when they don't want to. So, he needs to be watched because he will try until he gets swatted at. He just needs to be told "leave it".
