Loving Pet Parent to All Furbabies

Pet care experience

ABOUT US: Our family lives in West Seattle and includes John, Erica, Kiddos 12 & 15, Clancy (13 year old 50# Springer Spaniel/Red Heeler mix), Arthur (7 year old 28# Foster Beagle), Noodle (3 1/2 year old 5.2# Chihuahua), Oreo (1 year old “Catdog”) (Our sweet kitty Bella Baby Kitty crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2017 and we adopted Noodle in her name.) We are extremely active and live and play hard. Clancy, Arthur, Noodle, Oreo and (RIP Bella) are rescue animals who have made a wonderful addition to our family. Clancy and Arthur enjoy playing with friends outside in our private fenced in dog park, patrolling our fenced in front yard, chase, wrestling/keep away with friends, playing with toys and snuggling. Noodle is a flirty snugglebug with a big dog personality. He is very eager to make new friends but due to his dainty size we are cautious with introductions. Oreo is being raised as a dog. He is kennel trained and LOVES to wrestle and play with his big brother Noodle. Noodle and Oreo love to play chase and tag up and down the hallway. (Both Noodle and Oreo are available to play with suitable sized visitors, otherwise they are kept separately for their safety.) ABOUT ERICA: I have always been an avid animal lover. I grew up with Dachshunds, kitties, a goat, fish, mini turtles to name a few. I love them all!!! :) In addition, I was an equestrian throughout middle school and high school and was responsible for the care of several horses. In addition to fur babies, we have children who have been raised to love and respect their animal siblings as well as to participate in their care. The children and I are currently pursuing our mutual love of horses by taking riding lessons together. (They are taking Western and I am taking English lessons.) I love pet sitting because I have had pet family members all of my life. Before we adopted Clancy, I had Dachshund babies, a Flat Coated Retriever, kitties and rabbits. I love how all fur babies constantly express their joy of life with their goofy individual personalities. BOARDING/DAYCARE: John and Erica grew up with pets of all varieties and our family would not feel complete without all of the joy that they add. We would welcome a visiting canine family member who can play well with our existing family members. However, we understand that some pets would like to stay in their own homes but get visits and playtime. We are very flexible and could accommodate a variety of arrangements. Although we have selected a preference for altered dogs, we understand that depending on age they may not of been altered yet. If your pet falls into this category, please let me know so that we can determine whether we could proceed with a stay or drop in. DROP INS: Erica can provide drop ins for any type of pet siblings who are more comfortable staying at home, in addition to boarding their canine brothers and sisters. She is very flexible. It is all about the comfort and finding the best arrangement for your pets. To facilitate smooth drop ins please add these details to the care info section as applicable; 1) apartment/unit # (if applicable) sometimes this doesn’t carry over from the app’s address field 2) access info (key - where hidden), (intercom code), (door access #), (alarm code #) 3) time range (Desired time range for visit. Since every day varies in my calendar, I will visit within the target range. Higher priority will be given for puppies, kittens, elderly and those who need medication.) 4) Misc info as needed (parking do’s/don’ts, mail info, backup emergency contacts, etc.) DISCOUNTS: We offer boarding discounts for repeat boarding customers, discounts for siblings and prices are negotiable depending on your situation. ABOUT OUR YARD: We have a 2,000 sq’ triple gated private dog park, and a fenced in front yard. Our pets and their friends enjoy frequent squirrel patrols, and galloping rounds of chase and keep away. Dogs are separated by energy levels and temperament. Some want to run all day and others want to lay in the sun. The fit is assessed upon arrival and incoming dogs are placed with friends who are best suited for them. Our goal is that all visitors are treated like family and have an amazing visit. :) ABOUT OUR HOUSE: We allow dogs on our furniture. However, we will gladly enforce your rules if this is not allowed at your house. Less active dogs hang out upstairs where they can snuggle on couches or dog beds with blankets and sweaters if the weather is chilly. They are let out to potty in the front yard corral which is regularly sanitized. More active dogs hang out downstairs where they have access to the dog park. The downstairs is comprised of a 150 square foot kennel room, a 400 square foot tiled play room and a 400 square foot rec room with three couches. They typically play in the yard or playroom during the day and at night time hang out in either the kennel room or rec room. Dogs are always grouped in pairs. (If only one requires a kennel, the kennel is moved into the rec room to be with the rest of the pack.) During feeding times, every dog is separated into a kennel or room before any food is given. No one is let out until everyone has finished eating and all bowls are put away. This ensures that that there are no squabbles or anyone eats someone else’s food. EXPERIENCE ADMINISTERING MEDICATION: Sure, no problem since we have had to do it with our own pets. We have experience giving oral, topical and injected medicines. SCHEDULING/BOOKING REQUESTS: Meet & Greet time is reserved Monday-Sunday 10-6, with schedule and weather permitting. When requesting an on-site booking, please state which days and time ranges would work best for your schedules to meet for a half an hour meet and greet within these ranges. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule. Erica tries to be very responsive to requests. However with our new Covid world, she is often wearing several hats. If she hasn’t responded in a timely manner, please feel free to follow up. She will not mind at all. PICK UP/DROP OFFS (PROVIDED BY ERICA): ***The amount plugged into the amount is an arbitrary amount because I charge less for local pick ups/drop offs.*** Local West Seattle Rates: $10/trip (one way) Outside West Seattle (Downtown, Airport, Burien, Sodo, Georgetown, Capital Hill: $25/trip (one way) If you are interested in pickups, please select the box to flag the request on my side. I can adjust the amount based on your situation. Outside of those areas, or with any other questions, please contact to discuss. :) MEET & GREETS/DROP OFFS/PICK UPS (OUR HOUSE): In order to keep everyone safe and separated during Covid we have been setting appointments for meet & greets, pick ups and drop offs. Erica will reach out and set or confirm a time prior to your pets arrival/departure. Please make sure we have confirmed a time prior to arriving. Message her at least 15 minutes out with your ETA, and when you have arrived. (This will allow her to gather up all dogs running around and focus on your pet.) Upon your arrival, please sit tight and she will come out and greet you. You and your dog will be brought in and your dog will be allowed to nose around the backyard to familiarize himself/herself. Dogs already on site will be introduced to your dog one at a time so that a new pack is created every single time. (This ensures that your dog is included and not excluded and all dogs are on the same level with no one ranking higher or lower in the pack.) As dogs are being introduced, our rules are reinforced. (No dominating our friends, no excessive barking, listening to and respecting each other’s “words” and being kind while playing.) This has been a successful method of introduction for 5 1/2 years. :) Out of respect for neighbors and family members, pick ups and drop offs are to take place from 8AM-8PM (Monday-Friday) 10AM-7PM (Saturday & Sunday). Typically a one night stay would occur within a 24 hour window, give or take a few hours on either side. Of course we understand special situations arise. If such a situation arises please feel free to reach out and ask. :) Erica is a stay at home human/critter Mom. John works from home. Someone is almost always on site to monitor and provide care . :) We have a 2000 sq’ fully fenced dog area, a 850 sq’ downstairs area completely dedicated to dogs, plenty of kennels for those who need them. Erica is a stay at home Mom and John works from home. Miranda Is off for summer break. Between the three of us there is always someone home who has the training and knowledge to provide care for boarding pets or drop in visits. (We are a team!) We take watching pets very seriously. Our yard is divided into separate play areas and each entrance is triple gated. Between the three of us there is always someone home able to care for boarding pets.

Hazel’s stay with Erica all went very well. The other dogs were all very friendly and playful, great company and playmates for Hazel. Erica was very kind and had a great sense of humor. Great fenced yard with lots of separate areas for the dogs. All in all an excellent experience!

Information Erica L. would like to know about your pet

INFORMATION NEEDED ABOUT YOUR PETS AHEAD OF TIME: If we are hosting a visiting family member in our house, it would be imperative that he/she is friendly towards other dogs. We use verbal commands along with a “no no” bottle to make sure that all visitors remember to be kind towards one another. We do not allow dogs to display aggressive or dominating behavior towards one another. If this occurs, we redirect the behavior and if needed separate in a different space until good behavior is demonstrated. (This is usually another room or play space in the yard.) Please let us know if your dog has behavioral preferences or medical concerns to be mindful of. This will ensure he/she will get his/her needs met accordingly. In addition, we require all dogs visiting our house to have up-to-date immunizations and flea meds as warranted for their protection. If you could be so kind as to add details to your pet’s profile, that would be awesome. Above all, it is our ultimate wish that all visitors and residents at our house have a happy, healthy and fun time. Keeping everyone safe and well loved is our main focus. If this sounds like an ideal fit for you, please do not hesitate to contact Erica. :)

A typical day

ONSITE-A TYPICAL DAY (Boarding/Daycare): All of our pups enjoy running around in our triple gated private dog park or lounging on our numerous couches indoors. They enjoy games of fetch, patrolling for squirrels, keep away and tag, or snoozing comfortably in blankets and sweaters depending on temperature. We try to be mindful of each dog’s preferences and our furchildren have been raised to be very flexible. YOUR DOG’S SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: It depends on where your dog is used to sleeping. If they need to be kenneled, that works for us. If they like to have free reign, they could cozy up on one of our couch with a snuggle blanket, or on a dog bed on the floor. We are flexible! It is most important to us that your dog feels welcome and happy. TIME WE’LL SPEND WITH YOUR DOG: Rather than state what we think your dog needs, we think your dog would appreciate sticking to the schedule that he/she is used to. Let's talk about what your dog's needs are and agree on a customized solution. OFFSITE- A TYPICAL VISIT (Drop ins/Walk): Your pet will receive Erica’s undivided attention with a focus on making sure he/she/they feel loved and well taken care of. This includes cleaning up any unexpected messes, play time, lots of love and attention. Please describe your pet’s routine and preferences. (If you are out of town, your mail/packages will be brought in and random lights turned on.) Anything else? Please don’t hesitate to ask.
