Pet care experience
I graduated from NIU in 2014 with a doctorate of physical therapy and have been working in pediatrics ever since. I am passionate about helping others and I love fur babies. I grew up with cats, dogs, fish, hamsters, gerbils, etc. Prior to my current shihtzu pups, I had a special needs Lhasa Apso. My sweet Lhasa had degenerative disc disease and dry eyes, he had 2 extensive surgeries (one on his cervical spine the other on his lumbar) so I’m experienced with medicine administration and dog physical therapy (he was paralyzed in his he rear legs before his first surgery and I had to personally rehabilitate him to regain full mobility in his legs post-op). Let me know if I can be of assist to you and your fur baby!
Reviews
Very happy with Erica and her wonderful family. Our dogs spent 3 days with them and on the last day Bentley refused to leave. Erica has two adorable little dogs and they all got along nicely. Communication was great, plenty of updates and pictures during the day. As a bonus they provided plenty snowboarding suggestions - that made our trip to Colorado significantly better. We had a great experience working with Erica and we hope we’ll be able to leave our dogs with them again in the near future.
Erica has been a caring dog sitter for my pups for several months. She shows Stella + Theo constant love and attention - takes them for long walks around the neighborhood and plays fetch until they drop. My dogs are always happy after a day of being spoiled with Erica. Highly recommend her for watching any pups!
Really good. Great communication, professional and very caring with dogs. Trusted to visit while out of town the dogs stay with here. Very Highly recommended
Erica is great with dogs. She has watched my two dogs while I went on vacation several times. Her and her husband treat my dogs as their own and love to take them on walks and stay active. She would be a great walker/sitter.

We have a duplex down with two living areas so lots of space to play and romp. Being a duplex, we do have internal stairs, but they have grip mats on them. Doggos are allowed on the furniture, including a big bean bag with a view out the front window.

A typical day
We love playtime and walkies (also known as “sniffaries” because nose-work is great for development and tiring out high energy dogs). I also have some dog puzzles and lots of plush & rubber toys. Being that I own small dogs, I always put away which toys are choking hazards to bigger dogs or if someone tells me they have a strong chewer. We do own a kennel if your baby prefers to be crated at night, but all doggos are allowed on the bed for night time snuggles.

Availability
I’m currently self-employed and work from home so I’m readily available during the day to attend to my pets and others pets. My husband also works from home and sometimes assists me. We have a few dog parks close by, typically suited for medium - XL dogs, but it’s a quiet neighborhood filled with dogs on walks at all times of the day.
