Pet care experience
In 2017 I started working with Rover part time and by the end of that year had built up enough clients that I was able to pet sit and dog walk as my primary means of income. In 2020 I made the shift into a full time position as a computer repair technician and was no longer available to provide full time pet care services due to the scheduling constraints of the position. I am now returning to Rover (as of January 2024) as I have begun working for myself again and once again have control over my schedule.

Eric took great care of our older dog while we were out of town for a week, and was flexible with our plans overall. He also accommodated some last-minute challenges and was nothing but professional throughout. Our pup was happy and healthy throughout his stay and when we got back.
He walked through the snow last winter up a long steep unplowed hill to feed our cat who couldn't figure out how to use the can opener. Highly recommended.
Jasper loves Eric! He is very excited to go on walks with him and was in great spirits when I returned home from a week away. Eric is an excellent communicator and thoughtful in his planning. He sent pictures and regular communication, kept plants watered in the recent heat wave and left the house in perfect condition. Definitely will use Eric again!

Information Eric H. would like to know about your pet
I have no breed preferences, but I would like to know as much information about your dog as possible in order to deliver the highest level of attention and care. An excellent experience with an animal starts with excellent communication with the pet owner. I want to know as much about the pet as possible so that I can cater the walk/stay to the needs of the animal and the owner. I also pay close attention to each pet that I spend time with, learning about them and giving them the personal attention and care that I would give to a close personal friend. My philosophy is that the walk/stay is not about me, my role is to facilitate a wonderful experience for the pet and for you!
A typical day
A typical day is going to depend on the animal. I aim to replicate the daily routine of the animal as much as possible while the owner is away. In our initial meet and greet we will discuss this in detail before agreeing to the booking. I will not accept a booking if I do not believe I can accommodate your needs.

Availability
After nearly 3 years of working full time for a company, I am venturing out on my own and now have control over my own schedule. I recently began free lancing as a repair technician and am able to work from home and on my own schedule. This provides me the freedom to provide pet care during the day and night and to be with the pet for the majority of the stay. I will occasionally need to leave for shorter periods of time to take care of errands but the majority of my work is done from home.
