Not happy at all with this experience. I booked for one night starting late morning Saturday. First off Emma took the booking then changed the time on me last minute because she made last minute plans to go hiking which my dog loves btw, so I had to get Theo over to her place by 8 am but that’s not the worst thing that happened. She left a text for me at 9:31am that said that my dog had snapped at and “bit” her dog and that I needed to “pick her up the sooner the better”. Well I immediately messaged back, Theo had NEVER bitten any dog and I was incredibly stressed and wanted to pick Theo up right away. Emma did not reply so I called at 9:56 and 10:25 and messaged again and again-nothing. I had a family birthday party in Vancouver and had agreed to be the driver so other people were depending on me and I had to leave. Imagine how stressed I was! When Emma finally messaged me(no return call)after 2PM the message said that she didn’t have reception, she was hiking and “couldn’t take Theo because ...” she left my dog with a friend.” She left my dog with a stranger that was not cleared at all by me or Rover, that said how much worse could her friend be anyway Emma certainly couldn’t handle or has zero interest in soothing my apparently super stressed 11lb pup. Theo has stayed with family/friends and has been boarded many many times and on walks encounters dogs everywhere and she has NEVER bitten another dog EVER! If there was any issue between Theo and Emma’s dog Emma should have had enough experience to handle it in a kind and caring manner and not ditch my dog and go hiking and still get paid for a service that she actually didn’t perform. To say I was upset would be an understatement! I spent my time in Vancouver worried about my poor Theo, checking my phone and counting the hours to make the quickest exit from my granddaughters 7th birthday party. The take away is that this experience with Emma is that my confidence in Rover is complete gone. I will board Theo from now on.
