Energetic & caring SPCA volunteer

Pet care experience

My name is Emma, and I've been a responsible pet sitter for now 10 years. I was President of the Rice Houston Humane Society at Rice University where I took a group of animal-loving students to the shelter every week to play and care for the dogs and cats. During college, I would host pet adoption parties and pet therapy study breaks on campus. I'm a proud owner of a rescue Pomeranian named Pixel, and he his my baby :) (But he lives in San Antonio with my parents) I have experience administering medication to both cats and dogs. Love all sizes and breeds of animals, regardless of age. I now work remotely from my computer so I can be there all day for your fur baby!

Emma was awesome! I was really anxious to leave my dog and two cats for a few days, but Emma made me feel really comfortable and confident that they would be well taken care of. She clearly has a lot of experience and is knowledgable about how to work with and connect with all kinds of animals. My dog was sad to see her leave when she left!

Emma took such amazing care of our 7 month old puppy Indy, I think Indy misses having her here! She gave daily updates and took great care of all of Indy's needs for an entire week. We would 100% use her services again!

Emma did a wonderful job again with Buck. He had a couple of minor complications which she navigated without issue. Great pics and check ins while I was away. Nice to come home to a cared for place. Highly recommend.

I'm just happy that Bucky eventually welcomed me back, after his phony cold shoulder for the first walk around the block! I'm convinced he had a great stay with Emma, and might have been just fine staying with her had I not returned! As far as I can tell, no separation anxiety for our first week apart. Just a happy, healthy, clean (not always easy with a wheaten) hydrated (in summer) well-but-not-over fed dog upon return. Emma sent me a quick note and pic every day to check in. She coordinated some unexpected goings on with friends and neighbors. She left my apartment cleaner for me than I had left it for her. It felt just like coming home, when I came home. I'd recommend Emma highly, so long as your request is not for the next dates I'd like to engage her services!

Information Emma T. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your pet has any special needs or behaviors. I’ve worked many years with rescue animals who have a hard time with a new person in their house. To maintain a stress-free and safe space for your pet, I need to know how I can best support them

A typical day

Lots of love and belly rubs! Great with any size of dog, I've owned large and small dogs. Tug-of-war is my favorite to play with dogs and acting like they won :) Long walks and plenty of time outside is best! I also love to rest on the couch and snuggle.
