Yours are treated like my own
Pet care experience
As a life-long lover of dogs (and being currently based at home full-time!) becoming a pet sitter is an ideal way of filling my time by providing tons of love to pups, helping other owners out, and giving your pets all the attention they deserve! I love getting to know each and every dog and discovering their personality and special quirks. I’ve come to really appreciate just how different each pooch can be, so it’s always an adventure to get to try to figure them out! I love the way every dog will give me the respect I give it, but seeing a dog happy and comfortable above all makes me as happy as can be. That’s why I can’t wait to meet your pup! In addition to being a life-long dog lover, I have over ten years of experience taking care of pets in professional capacities. I’ve been a volunteer for local animal shelters since I was a little girl, and just loved being able to help dogs get back up on their paws. There, I learned all about providing quality care to pups and how to make them as happy as can be, so I transfer those skills to my sitting all the time! I’ve just returned from the Peace Corps and wish to get back to caring for pooches after caring for humans for so long! I also have one pup of my own, who came all the way from Ethiopia to be with me! I live with another very mellow pup as well, so your pooch will have lots of opportunities to meet some new friends. When taking on a new client, I typically like to schedule a meet-and-greet. It’s a great way to make sure that we’re all a good fit for one another, which is so important to me. Likewise, it gives us the opportunity to chat face-to-face about your pup and your care expectations. No one knows your dog better than you do, so it’s always great to chat with owners in person about what makes their pup tick! Finally, I just love meeting new dogs! I like to get down on their level to show them that I’m a welcome presence here to make friends, and I’m sure we’ll be best buddies in no time at all. When your pup is under my care, my number one priority is making you and your pooch as happy and comfortable as possible. I believe that great communication is the best way to make that happen! Even before the stay begins, I like to get as much info as possible about you and your pup so that I can start thinking about how to make their dreams come true. During the stay, I’ll always send lots of regular updates, complete with accompanying photos so you can see just how much fun we’re having together! I’m happy to take detailed notes on anything you want to be informed on as well. Likewise, I’m very easy to get in touch with, so never hesitate to reach out for any question or concern!

Can't say enough about Emma! Filled in last minute and wore out my pup!! I never have to worry about him when Emma is walking him- I know he will be totally taken care of!!
Emma was great! She was on time and followed all our specific requests. Will definitely be using her in the future.
Emma S. is the BEST! My dog is always very happy & tired when I come home from work. She takes my pup to a local park every time, just like I requested :) Plus, she's punctual, flexible, and dependable. Highly recommend!
Easy & kind, Emma was awesome! Would absolutely use again!

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? What’s your preferred method of communication? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? Is your dog spayed/neutered? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?
A typical day
My house is a dogs heaven. I have lots of soft spots and sofas, an embarrassing amount of dog toys, a gated backyard (escape-artist tested and passed), and always someone there to play. My neighborhood has 3 dog-friendly parks in walking distance and all of the neighbors love to stop and pet those on the way. Thankfully, Boston also has no shortage of dog-friendly spots. A few of my favorites include Griggs Park in Brookline, the reservoir by Boston College, or Hammond Pond for a more nature-y hike. I love going on adventures, so we’ll never be starved for fun things to do together.
