Emma's family took care of Astrid for a few nights at their home. Emma was great with communication and sent us pics of her during her stay. They took her on walks and went the extra mile when she was refusing to eat her food.

I can't really comment about Emma's ability as a dog sitter. We set a date/time for Emma to sit with our dog. Then she said that the first day wouldn't work because she had to work as a nurse. We changed our plans and reduced our trip by 2/3 day. The day before we were to leave, I was taken to hospital in renal failure. The dog went to stay with family. I don't know that we would use Rover again. Communication with Emma was difficult. I understand the need to protect Emma's privacy but Rover being the only communication link was awkward. Emma was very nice but it was clear that her nursing job came first. Can't say I blame her. Thanks, Rover, but I don't think we'll be back.
