will cross street to pet a cute dog

Pet care experience

I’m a working professional in DC. My family grew up with two golden retrievers, who have since passed away and I’m looking to fill that void in my life by caring for other’s furry loved ones. I’m very active, running 4-5 days a week, so do especially well with active dogs and love to care for dogs that I can run or hike with. My office is currently closed due to COVID, so I work from home and your dog will get lots of attention, play time, and frequent walks! My building has a large fenced in dog area for playing and running!

5 stars in every way. Emma was able to dogsit Farley on short notice and took him for an amazing hike. By the end of the day, Farley did not want to leave with us! Communication was great as well. Thanks again, Emma!

Great experience. My dog had a great time, and even got to run and get his energy out. Thanks Emma!

Great communication, quick responses. Took our pup out of the city on a walk and to the dog run. Lots of picture updates! Will definitely use again!

Safety, trust & environment

We do ask that dogs that stay with us are fully potty trained and get along with other dogs as our building has a lot of dogs and run-ins are quite common. We also occasionally go out for dinner / grocery shopping for a couple hours at a time, so if your dog suffers from separation anxiety and needs to be supervised 24/7 it probably wouldn't be the best fit.

Home

Lives in an apartment
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 dog
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 2-4 hours

Information Emma M. would like to know about your pet

Meal times, crate preferences, when he/she usually goes out, energy level, comfort around other dogs. In your reservation, please confirm that your dog is comfortable and can interact around other dogs (unfortunately we can't make any exceptions to this at this time as our building is quite strict on this).

A typical day

During the week, we usually keep it fairly chill with long walks around the neighborhood, trips to the S street dog park (we'll make sure that level of socialization is OK first!) and rock creek park. Over the weekends, we like to get out of the city and go for a hike in northern Virginia.

Availability

As I work from home, I have a fairly flexible schedule so can usually accommodate your dog's needs throughout the day. If your dog stays with us over the weekend, my partner and I take frequent trips out to Virginia to go hiking and will bring your pup along (for fit, younger dogs).
