Energetic and caring animal lover
Pet care experience
Since I was old enough to remember, I've been surrounded by and cared for many animals from cats, dogs, and rabbits to chickens, geckos, and fish. I love working with my pets as well as friends and family on training their pets on simple tasks. My pets have always been a part of my family. I will treat your pets as though I'm caring for your family, too!

Emma always takes great care of our Newton!
Emma takes great care of our little fur ball!
We booked last minute and we’re so thankful emma could come let out fur baby out! She came to meet him beforehand and they seemed to get along well! She took lots of photos and spent some quality time with Duke while there.

Safety, trust & environment
I'm used to being around dogs on the larger side (70-100 lbs) so you can feel confident that your pets, little to large, are safely walked and played with. I do like to make sure an animal feels safe around me before interacting with it so I make sure to let them smell my hands and be around me for a bit before straight taking them on a walk or playing. It matters to me you feel heard and trust the person caring for your pets so I would talk to you about what a good pet-sitter looks like to you. I do not offer pet care from my home so my own pets can have a consistent environment.
Information Emma L. would like to know about your pet
If your pet has a history of, or is currently, experiencing health issues I need to know ahead of time. This includes vomiting, digestive issues, medications, joint issues, or any special care. I have high energy and do best with animals that require walks/check-ins to get their energy out. I love animals of all ages, but I find myself, the pet, and its owner are all happier when our energy's mesh well. I also ask to be made aware of any allergies or fears your pet may have so I can be sure to offer them a comfortable walk/check-in.
A typical day
During check-ins I check pets have the necessary food and water available and I love playing with them! I'm used to larger dogs so I'm excellent at tug-of-war and have a pretty good arm for fetch too. On walks I try to let the dog take the lead while always steering them out of harms way. If the owner is comfortable with it, I love taking dogs to the park to run in the fields and play in the stream. If it is best for a dog's temperament, I will let them interact with other dogs being walked in the park for a fun social time. I have experience with anxious pets and keep every animals nature in mind. I am fully comfortable telling people not to approach a pet that does not socialize well.

Availability
I currently run my own crafting studio from home and work a part time job. Aside from my regularly scheduled work and caring for my own pets, my time is open to walk, feed, and love your pets throughout the day as needed so you can feel confident they are cared for until you get home. Since my schedule is flexible and changes often I am best suited for people with irregular schedules that either need walks/check-ins for a set period of time or need someone fairly last minute. I always keep my Rover calendar up to date!
