Pet care experience
I'm a middle school Spanish teacher near Des Moines, and I live close to Altoona. I grew up with a beagle and have been the proud owner of a husky for just over four years. My husband and I have tackled puppy parenthood together and have learned a lot with our husky, Opal. We've spent lots of time these past few years focusing on socializing and basic training. I love going on walks with my pup, and I'd love to take yours on a walk too! I'm looking to make a little extra money while getting to do something I love... hang out with dogs! I enjoy dogs of all sizes and breeds, and I'm excited to meet yours.

Emma was perfectly on time for a drop in with our dogs. It was 4th of July so I was a little concerned about fireworks but she showed up early to try to beat them to make our pups more comfortable. She filled out a very detailed report card and we came home to 2 happy pups. We are very happy with her service and how well she kept in contact with us while taking care of the pups on a day that can be a bit scary for them!
Emma did a wonderful job checking in on our dog while we were away for a few days! The messages she provided were detailed and I loved seeing the pictures Emma sent. I’m so grateful that she was available to look after Saige!
Simply an AMAZING dog walker/sitter/caregiver. Emma dropped in over the weekend a couple of times to feed my two dogs who are wild and crazy but loved hanging out with her! One of my dogs had two accidents while I had been gone as she wasn’t used to the length of time I had before I had scheduled Emma to drop in. Emma cleaned her up and got her happy and ready to have a great weekend without me. I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! I also was excited for all the pictures of the dogs who were loving the outside and playing and most importantly eating their food!(one of my dogs won’t eat with certain people around). Highly recommend and will be contacting again for the next time I’m out of town.
I have a dog named Annie, a small rat terrior, who typically doesn't like most people (if I am being honest). Our vet recommended Annie get more socialization and walks to help with her weight and social anxiety and recommend Rover. After doing some research I found Emma, and reached out to see if she was interested in working with Annie. Ever since Annie started with Emma she has been more receptive to strangers and has kept a more healthy weight. All thanks to Emma!!

I administer my dog’s flea & tick and heartworm medication each month. I’m always checking on Opal’s coat to make sure she is free of ticks and that her coat is taken care of. I make sure Opal always has food and water and of course offer her an occasional treat.

A typical day
With my own dog, Opal, we go on at least two walks a day around our neighborhood. We love walking around Copper Creek on a nice day. We typically visit one of the Des Moines dog parks once or twice a week all year round. Reno and Riverwalk are our faves.
