We hired Emma to stay at our house and watch our dog, Dusty, while we were out of town for our baby shower. Before we booked the stay, we made it very clear that Dusty should not be left for more than an hour or two at a time because he has separation anxiety - Emma said that she understood this and reassured us that he would not be left. Halfway through our weekend trip, we woke up to a voicemail from the police department and were told that they had to visit our home four times from 11pm to 4am because Dusty was left outside barking and crying all night. We tried to reach Emma multiple times and received no answer and no response to our numerous messages. Luckily, we were able to have a family member drive to our home to get Dusty and remove him from an unsafe, scary situation. We didn't hear back from Emma until the following night when she sent us a text message saying that she had had a family emergency and had her phone stolen so she was unable to contact us. Not only did we receive a large noise violation fine but we upset our neighbors who were kept up all night because of the barking. Ever since this traumatizing incident, Dusty has been on edge and more anxious than ever. Very sad. It's frustrating and incredibly upsetting when you trust a pet you love with someone only to have them abandon him outside without a care. We were particularly upset that, whether there was a family emergency or not, Emma failed to get into contact with us for nearly 24 hours. For these reasons, we would not recommend that anybody trust their home or pets with Emma.
