I have been in the animal care industry for the last 10 years as a caregiver of zoo animals (in Richmond, VA and Chattanooga, TN) and I have held a small pet/house sitting business on the side during that time. My partner and I just recently moved to Tempe, AZ with our two cats, Cora and Cricket, and we are all very much enjoying life in the desert. As a former keeper, I am extremely comfortable with cleaning, feeding, monitoring health and overall well-being, enriching (giving environmental stimuli to encourage natural behaviors) and training (for educational or husbandry purposes) a wide variety of species. This requires one to be detail oriented, observant, patient, and creative, making us uniquely qualified caregivers. I have enjoyed applying these practices to the domesticated animals in my life, and I would take the welfare of your pet(s) very seriously. I love getting outside as much as possible (which proves a little more challenging in this heat but not impossible!) whether it's hiking, backpacking, or just riding my bike around town. I also enjoy playing bluegrass music in my spare time, singing and playing the fiddle.
