Lover of all animals :)

Pet care experience

I grew up on 80 acres, I have been a pet parent of dogs, cats, horses, fish, rabbits, snakes, and Guinea pigs. My father raised and showed hunting dogs- I have a solid background in dog training and horse training. I have extensive experience with senior dogs/cats and their needs.

Emilyanne is a wonderful pet and housesitter!! Our 2 dogs were very well cared for. I appreciated the messages she sent letting us know everything was going well, and she always told us when she would check in next. When we got home the dogs were happy and tired. Pretty sure my house was cleaner than when we left!! I struggle leaving my dogs, but appreciate knowing they are in great hands with Emilyanne :)

I ended up having a family emergency and found Emilyanne last minute. She was flexible and came for the meet and greet with my dad the next day and watched my 2 elderly, large breed dogs the following day. She was very thorough, took great care of my girls, exercised them everyday, updated me with photos multiple times daily and took great care of my house. I came home to a spotless house, clean fridge, a poop scooped yard and laundry done. I would highly recommend Emilyanne and would use her again for future dog sits.

Emilyanne was fantastic! From the meet-and-greet to the final day of dogsitting, she was so communicative. She sent us daily updates with photos and videos, as well as explanations of what she was working on with our younger dog (training him to wait for treats, be comfortable around the vacuum and drop the ball while fetching). Not to mention, our house was immaculately clean upon returning from our 10 day trip! I cannot recommend her enough! Your pets and home will be in great hands.

Emilyanne is the Mary Poppins of doggie governesses! From the moment we met (even prior over Rover text messages), I felt a kinship and at ease knowing she would be the best person to care for our boys for our 2-week vacation. We all took to her right away upon our meet and greet. Emilyanne asked all the right questions (and even several I hadn't thought of!) regarding both dog and home care. Her impressive background and experience paired with her good energy, candor and consistent communication were the winning combination for all of us. We received daily texts with multiple photos as well as highlights of the day. Our boys looked relaxed and happy. Knowing our doggie children and home were well cared for was huge for us and such a relief! AND upon our return the house was immaculate, tidy, towels and bedding were freshly washed and our houseplants have never look more perky and green! Emilyanne left us better than she found us and we are all so grateful! We hope she will "pop in" again for another "staycation." Thank you for taking good care of us, Emilyanne! 😊🐶🦮🐾🦴🙏🏻🪄☂️💖

I am very OCD regarding cleanliness; I aim to leave my pet parents' home cleaner than when they left. I own my own home and STR (short-term rental) business, providing me with an extensive understanding of general home maintenance and home needs. Your home is in capable hands while you are away. I offer house cleaning while my clients are away for an additional charge (deep cleaning, organization, general cleaning, etc.), as well as any personal assistance items, for my clients while they are away. I aim to ensure my clients arrive home without any additional added stress while they are away. **Please note** I offer pet sitting services 60 miles from my home address, as I understand finding a sitter in rural areas in NID/EWA can be challenging. I offer dog walking and drop in visits in a 10 mile radius of Coeur d’Alene. Pet Sitting requests greater than 10miles of CDA, that require a in-person meet and greet, I do require they book a “drop-in visit” service; to offset my time and expense of travel. I am very versatile and multifaceted due to raising a child into manhood :) Commercial Fishing in Alaska, using my MBA from Gonzaga with extensive tenure in the corporate world. I am spreading my entrepreneurial wings and hoping for the opportunity to care for your fur children while you enjoy time away. I have been around animals since I was brought into this world. I have an excellent understanding of dog speak, cat speak, and even horse language :) Looking forward to meeting your fur children and bestowing some affection and quality time with them.

Information Emilyanne H. would like to know about your pet

With my extensive background with dog training, I find it especially important to know your dogs triggers and elicited behavior responses to known triggers; as well as their likes and dislikes. This greatly helps to approach your dog in a manner well received by them. Much like children, dogs need consistency in their life. Having a well laid out 'typical' schedule, allows me to follow their routine, as that is key when their primary attachment figure (the pet parent) is gone and they have a substitute pet parent. I also like to know of any known allergies the dog may have to food or insensitivities. I typically carry dog treats with me, as it becomes unique to my visit and something for them to look forward to. I also like to have a list of known commands, items you are working on with the dog, and also what they are allowed to do and not to do :) They are much like children and love to push their limits with new people!

A typical day

I love to work with dogs, push their limits, and teach them new things within the accepted range of their pet parent's approval. I have an extensive background in dog training - ADA, Hunting, and showmanship - this gives me a unique perspective and many tools and tricks in my back pocket (along with a few treats). Dogs love to please, especially playing fetch, as it kicks up their endorphins and boosts the 'feel-good' chemicals in a dog's brain. I love to incorporate this type of play in a long walk - if the dog is good off a leash - if not, then I change up my program to make sure that each type of activity is well within their trained framework. Cats are typically a bit more into their own schedule and I let them set the tone ?
