Hi! I live in Surbiton with my husband and son (born May 2020) in a two bedroom ground floor flat/maisonette close to the station. We have a very roomy backyard perfect for a dog. We don’t have dogs ourselves but both grew up with labs/pit bulls/poodles so have experience dealing with these breeds since we were young. All of our family/siblings have dogs so around them a lot. I work from home every now and then. Pre covid my husband traveled for work quite a bit but is now home based so we are both at home so can look after a dog easily. I am finishing up my maternity leave and looking for work so am around to look after a dog no problem. We are keen to get a dog back in our lives even if it’s for a day or two! We had a baby during the pandemic and have a little one with us born in May 2020 so we must have a dog that is good with kids and can handle baby/toddlers around the house. This will be very important.

Leaving our dog with someone new, especially after so long since she's been away from home for the night, it's always a little nerve wracking. When you add to the mix that our dog has also got "special needs" (she's not dog friendly when out for walks) it could feel like she might be an inconvenience for her sitters. All of this went away when we met Emily and Alex and we're so glad to have found them to look after our Roxie! Not only they're local to us and have a lovely place with a secure garden, they were really flexible working with us to arrange our booking (we had a cancelled holiday) and overall their communication was excellent from start to finish (it was especially lovely to wake up to some pictures the morning after, seeing how well Roxie had settled). Knowing they have experience with reactive dogs was also a huge plus and really gave us peace of mind during our day away, knowing Roxie would be in good caring hands. We can't wait to be able to leave Roxie with them again on our next break/holiday - thank you so much from all of us!!!
It is never easy leaving our lovely boy with anyone when we go away, but it is always made so much easier when we know that he is being loved and cared for just as he would do if he were at home. Bo had the best time with Emily and Alex , evidenced by the many pictures Emily sent me, to let me know how he was getting on. He loved them so much, in fact, that when we went to get into the car when we picked Bo up, he turned around, more than once, to his new friends as if to ask..."are you coming?". It was a pleasure dealing with Emily and I could not recommend her highly enough to anyone looking for a sitter for their furry loved one. Thank you Emily (and Alex) for taking such good care of our beautiful big boy. Wishing you all the best with your new arrival. We will definitely see you again. Kxx
Emily was an amazing host for Enzo. He was so happy and she took great care of him. He enjoyed her lovely big garden and plentiful walks. We are so grateful that she was able to look after him. Thanks a million!
Emily clearly loves dogs!! Our dog Baxter loved staying at Emily’s. So much so that when my husband collected him at the end of the week, he didn’t want to go... she obviously took excellent care of him. Also, her communication was excellent throughout with regular photos and updates. Will definitely book again.

Obviously good to get some prior knowledge about the dog and whether they get along with other dogs, cats, kids etc. I’ve had experience dealing with a pit bull that didn’t get along with other dogs. We have close neighbours so a dog that incessantly bark probably isn’t ideal. I find it very helpful to arrange a meeting beforehand to get to know one another before and to ask any questions - always helpful if you visit our place as it gives you an idea of where your pet will be staying!
A typical day
Love walking, we do it regularly but would welcome an excuse to do it more. We have a car so would be happy to drive Richmond Park for an afternoon walk! Otherwise nearby there are plenty of smaller parks that are 5-10 mins away. We have a very large back yard where the dog can hang out, its ground floor so they can come and go as they please.
