Trustworthy, loving, & kind care

Pet care experience

I am the owner of Walk, Stay, Play LLC a pet & lifestyle services company. I am pet first aid & CPR certified & I also have two years of professional experience working as the manager for a dog (& cat) boarding facility. I am comfortable with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, & temperaments. I have experience with & am comfortable with administering medications. I have cared for dogs with severe epilepsy, kidney failure, diabetes, blindness, loss of hearing, etc. I have a particularly soft spot for elderly animals & those requiring special care & extra love! I am also comfortable caring for small, large, & exotic animals. I grew up caring for a plethora of different animal including but not limited to chickens & ducks, pigs & rabbits, hermit crabs & fish, parakeets & cockatiels, & even a tortoise (in addition to always having a dog & cat by my side). I also have a year of experience working with & caring for dairy calves. One of my specialties includes a level II Reiki certification. This allows me (if you & your pet are interested & willing) to do some hands free energy work to make your pet feel more calm & content in your absence. I also enjoy being active outdoors hiking, walking, & running. I have my own reliable transportation great for all weather so it will never be a problem for me to be there for your pet. Should I need to transport your dog, it is equipped with a special doggy seatbelt that I can clip to their collar or harness for safety. So if your dog loves the dog park, hiking, car rides, swimming, or any other special locations I would be happy to bring them!

Emily took very good care of our boys while we were away. She was even able to gain their trust in a few short visits. That was impressive! Hope to use her again sometime.

Emily is always dependable and I know our pups are always well taken care of. When we return home our house is always just as we left it.

We are so thankful to have had Emily come to check in on our cat Abby! She sent us messages and pictures every day which we really enjoyed seeing! She spent time playing with her and made sure she had what she needed while we were away. Abby obviously loves Emily and we wouldn't hesitate to have her come again!

Safety, trust & environment

I find that most pets do much better having in home care rather than going to a kennel. One of my goals is to keep your pet’s routine as close to normal as I can! If your dog gets a walk, wakes up, goes to bed, eats, etc at a certain time each day, let me know & I will try my best to make that happen.

Information Emily S. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know: 1. How does your dog do on & off leash? (Do they pull? Do they have good recall?) 2. Does your dog get along with other dogs when he/she is on leash? What about off leash? 3. Is this the first time someone other than you has watched your dog? 4. How does your dog react to new people entering their home?

A typical day

A typical stay with me cannot be called typical as each stay will be tailored to each family & pet due to their unique needs & preferences. There will be ample activity time tailored to the energy level of your pet & whatever they typically like to do, I will continue in your absence. In my eyes it is very important to keep up their normal routine, especially in the absence of their owner! I love being outdoors so taking your dog for long walks, hikes, adventures, or runs is definitely an option. If your dog prefers to play I would love to throw a ball, stick, or toy of their choice. In addition to activities listed above I am open to any suggestions & I will also provide plenty of pats, cuddles, & love.
