Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Emily and I would love to care for your pets! Here is a short history of my dog sitting experience: I have been pet/dog sitting professionally for the past 8 years and during that time provided service to over 60 different clients. Within those families, about 20 of them were my returning clients who I worked with consistently during the year. I've worked with all different breeds from mixed pound puppies, to purebred brachycephalic dogs, to large anxiety ridden pups. I am comfortable working with any breed or size, and also have a considerable amount of knowledge regarding behavioral and medical issues. I recently moved from Richmond, Virginia after graduating from law school. I have a very flexible schedule as an attorney and work from home often. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life and I understand how important it is to leave your pet in the hands of someone you can trust.
Reviews
Bill had a great time with Emily! ?
Emily was great! She was very flexible in allowing our goldendoodle to adapt and provided daily updates with pictures. Teddy had a great time and is one pooped pup!
Emily could not have been more accommodating! She was understanding when we had to push back the drop off time. She checked in about Tilly and was so prompt with her replies when we were planning. Next time we're in Richmond, we're definitely going to book Emily again.
Emily was very nice but I was not happy with the service received. It didn't appear my instructions for the care of Roxy were followed which caused issues.

Information Emily S. would like to know about your pet
Just a few short questions I'd love to have answered, simply because I do live in an apartment with neighbors I want to be respectful of and want to ensure my home will also be safe when I leave! :) - Is your dog comfortable around other dogs? (Are they well socialized or aggressive with others?) - Is your dog known to bark when you leave them? - Is your dog well potty trained? - Does your become destructive when stressed?
A typical day
My goal is to make sure that your dog sticks to their routine as much as possible! So whatever you do, I will try and do to the best of my ability. I understand that dogs can get incredibly stressed when taken out of their home environment, so my goal is to try and minimize that and provide fun companionship for your furry friend. As important as it is your dog is being well looked after, I also want to make sure that you feel comfortable as well. Meaning, I will be in contact daily sending updates, or doing whatever you would like in order to make you feel at ease! My husband and I live in a one-bedroom apartment that has plenty of space for a dog to accompany us in! My apartment complex is so dog-friendly, with two fenced-in dog parks. There are also paved sidewalks all around, which are great for walks. I have absolutely no problem with the dog tagging along or just hopping in my car to go with me to a nearby park. I'm more than happy to have the dog sleep in the bed with me, if that's what you're comfortable with, or am obviously fine if they are a crate or couch sleeper! Additionally, if you're not comfortable having the dog stay at my place and would prefer to keep them in their routine at home - I'm willing and available to stay in your home.
