Pet care experience
Active, attentive grad student with a flexible schedule and background pet sitting for a variety of animals, including large dog breeds. As a teen, I helped raise a service dog in training, an experience that helped inspire my interest in animal behavior. I believe that delivering clear cues and rewards are the best ways to establish positive relationships with new animals in my life. Patience and awareness has been key for me raising my own dog, who was a high energy rescue with some behavioral issues I’ve had to research and address over the years.
Reviews
Emily is great if you’re looking for a reliable and friendly pet sitter! She’s watched my 2 cats multiple times now, and she’s always been dependable so I never have to worry about my cats when I’m away. She communicates well if there are any issues. I highly recommend Emily to anyone seeking a pet sitter!
Great experience with Emily! Responsible, thorough, capable and kind. My cat loves her, too.
Emily was amazing with our cat Birdie! I could tell by all the pictures that Birdie absolutely loved her. She was very respectful, organized, and professional! Will definitely be using her again in the future.
She did a great job!

My dog, otis, is a 3 year old black lab who is very friendly and quite exciteable. He does amazing on walks with other dogs, so I may ask you if you are okay with me bringing him along. We live in north boulder in a quiet townhome with a yard, around a great walking neighborhood. If I need to leave animals home alone for daycare at all, we will communicate about their needs and expectations, but I am able to separate everyone and have lots of experience making kongs and other tasty treats to keep dogs occupied.

Information Emily S. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know in advance any questions or concerns. How is your dog with other dogs? Does your animal have any dietary needs/restrictions? Do they take water on walks, usually? What do you see as the main purpose of our walks? How do you treat your dog and how I can I best match that level of care to make this transition easier for them?
A typical day
When I walk dogs, I pay attention to their body language and comfort. I am used to taking long walks and will happily do so with yours, or I’ll shorten them depending on your pets needs. Safety is priority and as someone with a high energy dog myself I understand the awareness needed to be proactive on a walk to avoid triggers.
