Pet care experience
I currently work in emergency services & specialize in providing swift, effective care for my community. I want to be able to spend my off time taking care of animals! I have volunteered for the Humane Society in my hometown, raised my childhood dog from 8wks old to 14 years old, & used to read dog books for leisure! Starting in 2016, I worked as a certified Pet Care Associate at PetSmart, & have a wide range of experience with different animals. I know how to identify & treat most common medical issues with pets & have ample experience administering medication. I have trained my dog in obedience since he was an 8wk old puppy. I have the most patience for animals & haven't met one I don't like!
Reviews
This was my first time using Rover and I was a hot mess. Emily was so understanding and reassured me the dogs would be taken good care of. She also gave constant updates including many pictures of my babies. The house was just as we left it and the dogs barely seemed to miss us, so they must have had a great time!

My yard is lined with trees, though not fenced. I have a lead system set up so my dog is let outside on a sturdy lead where he can roam throughout the backyard. My house has a large, open bottom floor where running & playing is encouraged, & an upstairs with two bedrooms for more space. We live right by a city park where we love to go for walks! There are 3 cats who live here, they're incredibly friendly & best friends with my dog. My dog is a 2 year old Airedale Terrier male who absolutely loves to socialize!
Information Emily S. would like to know about your pet
We would love to know a bit about other dogs' temperaments, as Archie is still a young dog & is very exciteable. We wouldn't want to upset someone/somepup who has a small social bubble or is slow to warm to a happy (and large) puppy!
A typical day
Archie & I live very close to a park & absolutely love to go walk around, see people near it, & play fetch! We have a Chuckit! toy that makes fetch very fun & helps burn energy. We also love tug of war, doing tricks for treats, & going for rides with the windows down!

Availability
I work full-time here in Springfield. My hours are 5pm-3am, making me available in the day prior to my shift & available overnight for any nightshift workers who may need care for their pets. I have a Furbo pet camera that makes it easy to check in on my animals when I'm at work, talk to them through it, & it also gives me alerts when they're barking, howling, or any alarms are going off in the house, etc. My dog loves it when I throw him treats from the Furbo! I live less than 5mins from my work, which allows me to run home & check on my dog as needed! I'm very flexible!
