Pet care experience
ATTN: For all new pet parents, I do require a meet and greet before a first stay. Please contact me at least 48 hours before you plan on needing my services so we have time to get together. Meet and greets are required as a safety precaution to guarantee the safety of my family (furry and not) and any guest dogs that are under my care. Thank you! My name is Emily and I believe that a house is not a home without a couple of dogs. I've owned dogs since I was born and have recently expanded my home to include a cat, caged reptiles, and a kid. I have experience with dogs ranging in size from teacup Chihuahuas to Newfoundlands. I have also owned various rodents/small mammals, birds, and fish. I was raised around horses and cows, goats, a cranky llama, chickens, guineas, and a good number of fostered wild animals (raccoons are the best!). Animal care is my full time job, and though I am in school, all of my classes are online. I also work part-time as a driver for Uber and a Starbucks partner. Luckily, all of this equates to a very flexible schedule so I can be with your pups as often as they need me. I fully understand how anxious some pet parents can be when leaving their fur-babies with someone new, so I am happy to provide Skype video calls and text messages as often as you would like to check-in with your pup. I also know that some dogs can have pretty severe separation anxiety. I offer lots of cuddles, kind words and am happy to administer provided medication, thunder shirts or any other trick that you might have to calm your dog. I do know canine CPR and first aid, and I am comfortable giving every type of medication I've come across so far. I am experienced in post-surgical pet care and have great relationships with Jonesboro Animal Hospital and Thomas Crossroads Animal Hospital.
Reviews
It’s been a while, but I wanted to say… Emily and her family are amazing! My dogs were healthy and happy looking when I picked them up. I say this because I’ve had a bad experience with another sitter when Emily wasn’t available. Communication was great as well! Book her! She also has a great backyard for the babies to run around
Emily is a great person and pet sitter! Callie and Missy love her. We never worry about them because we know she will treat them like her own and spoil them too!
Emily is very flexible. Our dogs are very content to stay with Emily.
Emily is fantastic with our dogs

Information Emily S. would like to know about your pet
Before any initial service, I require a meet and greet. This will give the owner and I a chance to meet and an opportunity for their pups to check me out. I would like to know about any health or behavioral issues beforehand so I can plan accordingly. It is also helpful to know about any fears (garbage bags, thunder, fireworks, men in hats, etc), if they have shown signs of separation anxiety and to what degree, and if your pet has any particular quirks that I should be aware of. While I don't think that any particular breed is more dangerous than another, I will not accept dogs that show aggression to other animals or people for the safety of me, my family, my pets, and other animals in my care.
A typical day
Because walks are focused around the home of the pets I am visiting, we will spend time in their own neighborhood and yards. We will suit our activity/walk speed to the needs of the pup. We also have time to play, get some cuddles, and make sure they are adequately fed and watered before I head out.
