The most common vaccine for Kennel Cough is the the bordetella vaccine. Kennel cough is a virus that attacks the upper respiratory system. It can be cured easily but is highly contagious. It can NOT be spread to humans. Leptospirosis is a zoonotic (can be passed to humans) blood infection that is spread to humans and dogs through animal urine, or water and soil contaminated with animal urine (wildlife such as raccoons or rodents). It usually is in bodies of water such as lakes or rivers. This disease can cause kidney and liver failure. Please keep your pet up to date on heartworm, flea and tick prevention.
