Nature-lovin' animal lover

Pet care experience

I have been a pet-owner my entire life, mostly cats & dogs. I have been a pet caretaker for many years of many breeds, sizes & ages. I love animals, & the debate of whether I'm a cat or dog person is moot because who can decide?!

I have so many good things to say about Emily! She has been my go to girl for pet sitting for my 4 fur babies with bean-toes! Taz, Marley, Curio and Kitty. Emily took my 4 cats in on such short notice when I had to fly back home for a family emergency. You know how it is in those times, your nerves are frayed and you feel like crying, because everything outside of getting home, is just an obstacle you need to get over and just get home! My best friend whom has dogs actually, referred me to Emily, she told me that Emily also boarded cats. I called her up immediately while still at my friends place. She answered, and thank the stars, she was available for the timeframe I needed my babies taken care of. Since the notice was so short, two days from my date of calling she said she wouldn’t be available to do a free meet + greet but would email me a list of questions about behavior and feeding for my cats. She said the email would also include everything I needed to bring with, for my cats, for her to properly care for them. She also wanted to FaceTime with me briefly just to ask a few more questions, let me see her face, she see mine etc. Emily then came to my residence the evening before my flight, picked up my cats, and before hand even offered to drop me off at the airport. She is an angel. I declined the ride because I already had arrangements, but I definitely would have taken her up on that and tipped her Uber style. During her caretaking with my cats, every single time, every single day, she has sent me videos, photos and text updates. She definitely lets you know, that your fur babies are in excellent hands. Emily definitely cares about animals, and she knows how to care for them superbly. I wish there were more Emily’s out there, so I wouldn’t have to be worried if she will be available when I need her or not, since she is in such high demand!

I was in a tight-spot. I had just joined a company, and had to go to a training/orientation in Dallas, mind you, I live in in Austin. I had also just recently added a pet to my home, my golden-retriever-puppy Henry (age 6 months). Having to commute from Austin to Dallas every morning/evening is another 8+ hours and 2 extra headaches added to my day, that I would prefer to avoid. I started my research, and was looking for someone to watch Henry for me, for the 5 days that I would have to be in Dallas for training. It wasn’t something I was necessarily comfortable with (allowing someone access to my home, while I was not there), and I kept seemingly coming up on dead-ends. I was darn-near about to bring Henry with me, and find a pet friendly hotel, where I could then take every single break to make sure he was properly cared for while I had to do this training…. UNTIL, I had expressed my concerns to one of my sisters, on the phone one evening….She had said that whenever they have had trips they need/want to take as a family, they use a dog-sitter that they 100% trusted. So she then referred Emily. My sister raved about Emily and said that she was so good at caring for their one pooch (Leelu). Leelu, has a disorder and needs medication every day, in order to stay healthy, so this to me, was a good indication. I called Emily the next day, and she answered on probably the 3rd ring, and answered so professionally, clearly stating whom she was and the nature of her services. I explained my dilemma and asked her if she would be available on my short-notice dates. She gave me all of the options she had available from in-home sitting to caring for Henry in her home while I was away. As I was still uncomfortable with someone coming to my home every day I opted more towards the option of her caring for Henry in her own home. With that she asked if I would be available to swing by for an hour to view her place, with Henry. She said it was free, and she needed to get a good feel for Henry. So I went, and was pleasantly surprised by how well-kept and organized her home was, and how she had dog beds, dog toys, and dog-leashes equipped around the home, when clearly she didn’t have any dogs of her own. Henry LOVED her, and was digging the vibe of what she had created for dogs in her home. Long story short I was sold: I chose Emily. She picked up Henry from my home the evening before I had to leave for Dallas, and brought him to her home. She sent me videos and pictures every single day of Henry, and all the feeding, walking and fun stuff she did with him. Henry clearly adored her, and I felt so secure in the choice I had made with opting for Emily as Henry’s sole caregiver while I was on business. With this job now, I have to travel fairly frequently within the state of TX, and I have always sought Emily’s care for Henry. There’s been a few rare-times where I haven’t been able to get her and Henry together, and the aftermath was absolutely apparent without her help in Henry’s mood/demeanor. If I could recommend the whole state of TX to Emily if I could, but I know that would be impossible for her. So I will give my stamp of approval here, on Rover, so that HOPEFULLY she will be in your sphere of availability. Can’t say enough great things about her and what she has done for Henry and myself.

My husband and we’re looking for someone to house sit while we went on a family trip to FL this summer. We were also in the process of looking for somewhere to board our 2 pups (Kona + Ed). We would have preferred to have our dogs at home, so they could be comfortable… but trusting someone you may not know, to come into your home each day, and properly care for your pets, is no easy feat. So we almost gave up on the idea of in-home boarding/pet care, until my mother-in-law referred Emily. She said Emily was so good with her 3 dogs. Feeding 2Xs a day, and walking them every day as well. She also said Emily had house sat alongside the pet-sitting for her while she’s gone on various weekend and week trips. Hearing this from a trusted source definitely was an answer to our prayers. We gave Emily a call, and she got back to us promptly (within the same day). She told us she was open for the dates we needed help with, and asked if she could come and meet us, and our 2 dogs, and get all the info she needed about their behaviors and daily feeding and activity schedules and what we needed done around the house while we were gone. She did not charge for this meeting/consultation. She had so many great questions about the dogs and their lifestyle, and behavior, that I would have never even thought to mention in say, a written format. We were v impressed with her thorough and v professional approach. The dogs were impressed with her as well, because they seemed to trust her, and enjoy being in her presence. When your dogs like someone, I think that’s a pretty good indication of character. We went ahead and booked the services with Emily. Not only did she do a great job at everything we had asked her to do, she exceeded what we had expected. She sent daily photos and videos with Kona and Ed, eating, walking, playing etc, as well as photos and videos of tasks she had completed around the home we needed done. Emily is now our go-to, whenever we need house-sitting done, and ESPECIALLY pet-sitting. Ed and Kona adore her. She even sent us a cute little package with dog treats and a lovely card, thanking us for allowing her into our home, and our dogs lives. Emily is one of those rare-finds, that you get what you pay for, and then feel like they don’t get paid enough for what they did for you! 100% recommend her with your beloved pets!

Emily has tons of experience loving, caring for, and nurturing animals. The way I’ve personally seen her handle any animal is nothing short of the definition of a pet lover. Her patience is unmatched with animals of little to no training, as well as her love for the old timers and everything in between. As a woman whose grown up with always having a dogs and cats in the house she has plenty of experience and love for any type of animal you need her to take care of!
