Let’s Go to the Mountains!

Pet care experience

Walking my elderly neighbor’s adorable Pomeranian up and down the street for $2 was my first job as a kid! I always wanted my own furry companion, and one day I will when I have the space. For now, I fully enjoy loving on my family’s and friends’ dogs, taking care of them, and even just checking in on them throughout the day sometimes. I have many references who would tell you how secure they feel leaving their babies with me, how excited their dog gets when they see me, etc. I feel the same way when I see them, too!

Safety, trust & environment

I have a pet rabbit, so I am unfortunately not able to take your dog in at this time. I also have stepped away from petsitting as it doesn’t make sense for me to leave my little bun at home while I tend to other buddies. :-)

Information Emily Q. would like to know about your pet

I love to connect with my human and canine clients first thing, to make sure that we all feel good about a walk together. I am also open to going on a hike with you (the human, I assume) and your dog friend if it calms your nerves to know that we walk in the woods well. I like to know any different behavioral patterns ahead of time, if any. And your dog’s primary caregiver in case of emergency.

A typical day

I love being outside. Outdoor education is my passion, and time in the mountains is when I feel most at peace. I believe in the science behind “grounding,” which simply explains the health benefits that come from making skin contact with Mother Earth, including reducing anxiety, leveling out blood pressure, opening capillaries, etc. The Mountains to Sea Trail and Bent Creek are two of my favorite destinations for dog walking. The other walkers and runners are almost always aware and dog-friendly.

Availability

I am currently taking online classes which allow me the flexibility to fill gaps in my weekly schedule. A dog walk is perfect for these windows of time, not to mention one of the best ways I can think to use that time! I can work with scheduled walks Monday-Friday anytime before 4PM unless otherwise noted.
