Fun & Interactive Pup Retreat
Pet care experience
I have been taking care of animals for my whole life. My grandfather owned a farm with a variety of animals, and then I have always had at least one pet since age 5. I grew up with rescued mutts and dachshunds, and we currently have a three year old German Short-haired Pointer puppy who loves to play! I have also spent many years house/pet sitting for friends and family of all different animal varieties and temperaments. I have experience with dogs that have behavioral issues, and we can work with that too! My husband and myself strongly believe pets are part of the family and get the same treatment as everyone else in the house. This includes plenty of snuggles and playtime as well as sitting anywhere they want and sleeping in bed with us. I am out of the house 2-3 days/week for my nursing job, so I am unable to accommodate bookings on those days, but I am home full time if my availability is open on the calender!

Our dog Ollie had a great time at Emily and Paul's (and Ruger's!) Our travel plans were in flux due to covid but they were super understanding, flexible and communicative when booking. We got lots of Ollie pics when were away so we knew he was doing okay. Your pup will be in good hands with Emily and Paul!
Apollo was in good hands with Emily and Paul. He was exhausted after spending the week with them! Definitely adding them to my favorites list.
I’m so glad I chose Emily & Paul and to watch my dog. They were considerate and made sure my pup was happy and getting lots of attention. I appreciated the meet and greet before I even dropped her off. I got tons of photos! My dog came home happy and tired. Definitely will be booking with them again.

Ruger is a high energy dog, so we go out multiple time per day for walks with the pups. We live right next to the state forest which gives us multiple opportunities to go out on hikes! While inside, the house is open to the dogs. They are allowed on the furniture and to sleep in bed with us, if you so choose! If you'd prefer we don't let them on the furniture or you want to use a crate for certain times, we are able to do that as well. Since at least one of us is almost always home, the only time your pup would be alone is if we had to make a quick errand run. We keep Ruger separate from your pup if we ever have to leave since there will be no supervision.

Does your dog like other dogs, or prefer to be alone? Ruger loves to play, so we're not always the best fit for pups who don't like interaction with others. Any special routines followed? We are pretty go with the flow of the day with Ruger, but we can keep your pup on a schedule if that's what you prefer! Diet restrictions or favorite treats? We like to use lick mats and Kongs on hot days to help cool down. Medications?
A typical day
We go around the neighborhood and to the state park for walks. We have puzzle toys and lick mats if allowed for indoor stimulation, especially on hotter days.

If my schedule is open, I am home full time to keep whatever schedule you have at home. We try our best to keep things consistent to what your pet is used to!
