Pet care experience
I’ve always had dogs as pets, but my first job as a teen was at a vet office kennel caring for up to 30 dogs at a time- feeding, watering, walking and playing. I have experience with every size of dog and some pretty exotic breeds too. I also trained puppies starting out on their bomb-sniffing dog careers. One of the puppies I trained was guarding the Jackson family at the Super Bowl during Janet Jackson’s infamous performance. Additionally, I was a house sitter for many years for a friend of mine and her 3 dogs- I actually made their meals! I have 2 dogs of my own, Minnie (8 yr old pug- a puppy mill rescue who I had to keep on a leash for the first month I had her, now I'm "her person" and she follows me everywhere!) and Eleanor (1yr old Frenchie who is DEFINITELY still a crazy puppy and currently in heat ??♀️). I occasionally go back to my mom’s house in Iowa to care for my stepdad's 2yr old pug Maxie. ***I’m available just about any day of the week, almost every hour of the day, but plan to go to Iowa for Thanksgiving weekend.***

Emily stayed with my dogs Jack and Jill for two nights. They loved her. Emily sent me plenty of photos and was in contact throughout, so I was totally comfortable with everything. When I got home, the dogs were comfortable and happy. This meant a ton to me! Emily is awesome!
Emily is a rockstar! We had last minute pup care needs and she responded to my request in less than 5 minutes and we set up visits for the 2 following days. Not only did she walk our girl but she also was happpy to pick her up at doggy day care ( Grateful Pets in Soulard ) so LouLou didn’t have to be in her crate all day. Our girl loved her and she even managed to fit in some pat pats with our 2 kitties. Emily made a family emergency mixed with spousal travel and a heavy work load so much less stressful. LouLou is already asking when she is coming back :). A shout out to Rover too - the process was easy to initiate and the communication piece was reassuring. Looking forward to more visits soon!

Emily is such a lifesaver! We have a special needs dog with anxiety. We were in town for a wedding, and although we often travel with Lucy, she was not happy staying in the hotel by herself. Emily saved the day and came to stay with Lucy so we could go to the wedding and enjoy ourselves! She updated us all night with photos of Lucy having a great time with her new BFF. We are so thankful for Emily, she took such great care of our girl and it was so nice knowing she was safe and happy! Couldn’t recommend her enough! Thank you, thank you, thank you Emily!

No real preferences regarding breed! It would be nice to have an idea of how well he/she gets along with other dogs or if there are any triggers, and what gets them motivated. For cats, how often they like their litter box clean, whether I’ll see them or not during my visit :) Overall for sitting your pet, it would be nice to know how much attention they need: i.e. whether you need me to stay 24/7, overnights, or just come in a few times a day— whatever you want, I can make it work! I’d prefer to meet you and your pup or kitty in person before booking any recurring services,— this way we can make sure there aren’t any surprises. It’s also nice to put a face to a name! However, I know from personal experience how busy our lives can be, so if I’m just doing a drop in or walk I’m comfortable waiting for a “meeting with the pet parents” to meet you!
A typical day
I enjoy long walks in the park, hiking adventures, and just cuddling on the couch with a dog or cat and watching TV. I have a doggy car seat for small dogs and have been known to let the big dogs ride up front too, so your furbaby can go for a ride safely and in style. I am always up for good cuddles and giving belly rubs!
