Pet care experience
I've been working with animals for eight years, both independently and for a small business, and have been fostering and adopting pets with special needs since I was 20. In addition to dogs and cats I've taken care of reptiles, fish, small animals like rabbits and rats- even chickens. I'm currently certified in Pet First Aid and CPR by PetTech and have assisted in dog training classes at the Dakin Humane Shelter in Springfield. I'm also on the board of the Vizsla Club of Central New England.
Reviews
As always, great to have Emily taking care of my cats!
Again, thanks to Emily, I came home to a happy and healthy kitty.
Emily has taken care of my cat a few times while I was traveling and I’ve come back to a happy, healthy kitty each time. She has also been able to adjust the schedule when I was delayed or had to leave early.
Emily was great with our very anxious, difficult little guy! She was patient with him and sent us lots of updates!

I am available to work on holidays, weeknights, and weekends. I can't commit to long-term regularly scheduled walks, and when sitting I will need to be able to be away from your house for up to eight hours at a time. If you're out of my service area but roughly Red Line-accessible and having trouble finding care for your pup with medical and/or behavioral challenges, please feel free to message me anyways!
Information Emily O. would like to know about your pet
I love information, the more the better! I like to know what your pet's schedule is during the time I'll be taking care of them (eating, walking, medication, other routines), their likes and dislikes, signs they're doing well or stressed, and how to best support them.
A typical day
I have some who love exercise, dog parks, and long walks, some couch potatoes who mainly want company, pets, and occasionally some toys thrown around, some who are slow to warm up and need some time to scope me out before wanting direct interaction, some who really like their space and want the least intrusive care possible. I really just spend my time with your pets doing whatever works best for you guys.
Services

Availability
My main business is doing overnight sitting (staying at your house with your pets while you're away) and "one-off" visits (things like: can't take the Zoom-meeting break you had planned as your walk time, flight was delayed and your pup with separation anxiety can't spend the night alone, etc.) I am also available to do short-term regularly scheduled visits, like 6pm daily for four days.
