Pet care experience
I grew up with a dog and my family now has a big fluffy Akita! I watch and care for him regularly, but Boomer is not friendly with other dogs, so he will not be with me. I am a recent college graduate and I am looking to make some money as I search for a career. That being said, my schedule is almost always available! Emily lives dogs. We had a dog before she was born and has been around dogs her entire life. Our family is a puppy sitter for Fidelco, breeders and trainers of dogs for the visually impaired. She has been to puppy training classes and assisted with the puppy sitting. Emily is very enthusiastic and playful with the dogs and responsible with walking and feeding. Completely reliable with your dog in the car to take on a hike or to stay in your home.

I have a pet friendly car and I can drive to you easily, as well as drive your dog. I love walks and play time, but also enjoy laying around. I give lots of pets and can entertain a dog for hours. I can’t wait to play with your pup!

I would love to know any dietary or exercise restrictions, as well as their favorite activities. It’s easiest to enjoy time with a dog when you know their quirks and behaviors so you can both maximize your time together. Additionally, if your dog is food aggressive or protective of certain areas of the home, let me know as I do have experience with this and that boundary is important to respect when interacting with a dog.
A typical day
My dog enjoys tug, catch, and chase. Every dog is different, but I find that a walk is the best way to get that energy out. I love to go on the Norwalk River Valley Trail (on leash) or to Winslow Park in Westport (on or off leash). There are also plenty of hiking/walking trails in the area that are dog friendly.

Availability
I spend most of my day applying for jobs from my home, so I am quite flexible. If you need me to stay in your home, I am happy to do so as long as I can connect to your wifi. Other than the occasional lunch with a friend or doctor’s appointments, my schedule is almost always empty.
