I got my first dog when I was one, and have been caring for the little guys ever since. I volunteered to foster and walk dogs at the humane society and for neighbors, so I have experience caring for dogs young and old, sick and energetic--those who are mild mannered, and those whose behavior requires more attention. During my time as a fosterer, I took on litters of puppies, some with illnesses, and individual dogs that needed a bit more care than the humane society could provide, like those with injuries. I also took in the dogs of family friends who went on extended work trips, and of family members that needed a longer break, once taking care of a young, energetic boxer for nearly a year. All the while I had my own dogs, and found methods to integrate our canine visitors into the household in the smoothest, safest way possible, taking each dogs needs into consideration.
