Pet care experience
My name is Emily! I'm 23 years old and a biology and psychology grad. Previously, I worked with dogs and cats as part of a dog/cat daycare and boarding resort for 4 years. Additionally, I have dog-walked for friends and family when they went on vacation. This is my second year doing Rover and I love all the new furry friends I've made! I have been extensively trained in dog behavior, body language, and handling. I have worked with senior dogs, picky eaters, dogs with limited mobility, dogs that need injections or time-sensitive oral medications, and of course, puppies! I have bottle-fed and tube-fed young puppies, too! I I love spending time with dogs, no matter how large or small. If you have cats, no worries, as I am a Cat Mom myself! I also grew up with 9 cats and have fostered several litters of newborn kittens. What can I say? I love all furry babies! My schedule: I'm almost always open for housesitting. For drop-ins, I have greater availability for breakfast, dinner, or late-night drop-ins, but mid-day drop-ins can be arranged if I have notice!
Reviews
Two stars simply for feeding our boys. We were so disappointed upon coming home. We had Emily stay with our Bernese Mountain Dog and Silky Terrier Thursday through Sunday. We assumed she would arrive around 3 to 5 pm Thursday and knew she had to leave 9 am on Sunday. We scheduled a meet and greet prior to her stay. I was concerned when she came empty handed. The only note she took was the garage code which she put in her phone. Directions for our home and caring for our boys is minimal but the rules we do have are important. I took it upon myself to write down a few very important things. The rest of the discussion in my mind was simple consideration or common sense. Thursday evening around 8 pm we hadn’t heard from her so I messaged her. A while later she said she was out getting something to eat. I was surprised she never messaged to say she arrived or to thank us for the money we left her above and beyond the Rover fee. She was not responsive to my messages. I finally had to request pictures of our boys. It was much later when she finally arrived and sent pictures. Both Friday and Saturday if I hadn’t reached out to her we never heard a word from her. Our boys are always very happy to see us after any extended time away. This morning they were beyond excited to the point we never saw them act like they did. They wouldn’t leave our side. As we went through the house we noticed she used are master bath?! She was given instructions on which bedroom with an attached guest bath to use. Our house is new construction and only 4 months old. It’s very nice. We know we didn’t pay for maid services but please... clean up after yourself. We also feed raw and she left the smelly dirty bowls piled in the sink. The dishwasher is less than 6” away. Common sense would suggest rinsing with water. She was also told to feed our silky in his kennel. When we came home his bowl was sitting on the patio from the previous afternoon? Prior to our leaving on Thursday she asked if I’d leave towels out to wipe up the floor because a lot of rain was in the forecast. We have a dog door and the floors will get paw prints. My response was that there’s a mop in the pantry. I was pleasantly surprised she thought in advance about the floors. When we came home the floors were horrible and it didn’t appear the mop was touched. Not extra concerning to me but a tad disappointing. She obviously found our master bath towels which are right next to the rolls of toilet paper in the vanity cabinet but she left an empty toilet paper roll next to the toilet. Minor but helps to sum up how little if anything she did. I premade the boys food bowls. I think we paid her to take them out of the fridge and put the empty bowl in the sink... at least 3 of the 4. I fed them Thursday and she didn’t have to today (Sunday). We are struggling with the thought she wasn’t here for our boys. Perhaps she didn’t care knowing she is moving out of state in 2 months. If she resumes using Rover after moving we DO NOT recommend Emily.
She's great!!!!!
Emily took great care of my Charlie and Lola!
Never left my fur babies before. So glad Emily was my sitter, she spent extra time playing with them, and even collected our mail without being asked. Thank you, I highly recommend Emily.
