Pet care experience
Need a little help? For over 20 years, I've worked with animals of all types and sizes, including 11 years as a professional pet sitter, while putting myself through undergrad and graduate Animal Science degrees at NCSU. I've worked in animal hospitals, kennels, farms, pet stores and today, my career centers around compliance in animal care programs in our area. While working with animals is already part of my daily work, I really love to get out and meet new pets, and create an entertaining visit, so their people can rest assured they're in extremely capable hands... while also having safe fun! I'm comfortable with pups of all sizes and needs, and kitties with all the personality, or the shy ones who need a little extra love and understanding. Set up a meet and greet today :)

Emily is absolutely the most professional and sweet overachiever with my dogs. I have 2 dogs with 1 that need special attention due to medical isssues . She takes special care of both of the pups and gives individual care. She is kind enough to even send pics and video above and beyond what is asked. I have never seen my dogs ( who love me only lol) be attracted to another human like her. It is my pleasure to write a review, I only wish I knew how to convey how truly an amazing caregiver and animal lover she is.
Emily has cared for Buster and Lacy, our English Pointers on a few occasions. I heartily recommend her. She loves animals. Emily has also participated in 4-H and the NC State Fairs since she was a child. She works as a scientist and is very knowledgeable about animals. Emily can be trusted with your precious pet.
Long time friend of Emily’s here and I just want to say how amazing she is with animals (and kids). She can get on there level and understand their needs with no words. She draws them in and makes them feel comfortable with out effort. Any pet would be lucky to have an Emily friend.

Please be sure to let me know about any special needs or behaviors that you feel would help me, help your pet have a more relaxing visit. I'd love a heads up about potentially destructive behaviors so I can manage the situation properly. I've had lots of pet visitors over the years, and we are always better off when the people are honest and upfront about what issues we might encounter... no need to be embarrassed, even my dog likes the occasional 'treat' she's not allowed ;)
A typical day
We've got hiking trails along a creek in my neighborhood, miles of well lit sidewalks, and a dog park within 10 minutes of my house if that's your preference. I have 2 small pups who love to play, including a frenchie puppy and an old lady mutt. I literally chose my neighborhood based on how many dog friends I saw out with their people. I've got puzzle feeders, Kongs with peanut butter in the freezer, and lots and lots of toys to share! Note: If you prefer a home without other dogs, I can also arrange that in most cases.
