Pet care experience
I grew up with 6 dogs in the family, and since they have been a massive part of my life. Walking them and looking after them has been missed since moving from home. I have been told that I have a quiet, patient and friendly approach towards taking care of dogs, this has been gained through a life of experience with growing up around them. Im confident that I will be a good career for your dog, through having previous experience with looking after other people’s dogs and being told that I am reliable with looking after their dogs needs. I can provide a DBS check if wanted for security and peace of mind :) It’s nice if owners bring their dogs bed whilst they board here so they have a safe space that still smells like their home. I will care for your dog exactly how requested. For day care and boarding, I’d always suggest a meet and greet prior so we can walk our dogs in a neutral setting before seeing how they get on in the house. Your dog would need to be socialised and good around other dogs as I have a greyhound who likes his own space and just ignores other dogs. He is great with other dogs but won’t get on well with excitable/ anxious dogs. They will be fed separately and sleep in separate rooms, they would be walked twice a day together and will spend their day in my living room with me whilst I work 😊

It's the first time that I've booked a dog sitter so I was apprehensive about whether I was doing the right thing, but within minutes of meeting Emily my fears vanished. Straight away, Emily showed her understanding of dog behaviour by letting my dog come to her and sniff her and get used to her. My dog, Jack, is 18 years old and can be aggressive if people are too 'in his face', Emily gave him the space and understanding he needed. We very rarely leave Jack to be looked after, but when we do, he hardly ever eats while we're away. However, Emily coaxed Jack into eating his meals by hand feeding him - this was above and beyond what I expected of her and really impressed me. Emily is a very friendly and likeable person and demonstrated a sound understanding and knowledge of dog behaviour. I would definitely recommend her to anyone searching this site and have already recommended her to one of my friends.
Emily has looked after Miya several times now and provides a fantastic service. Miya is an anxious cat, though you would never think so the way Miya feels so content and secure in her presence.
Emily is excellent with my dog and he is a very big and boisterous boy. Is always very accommodating, and does an excellent job of tiring him out.

I will be able to adapt to your dogs routine in my home or your home. Having a list of their routine to go by really helps so I can meet their needs. Having a prepared list containing information such as you dogs: food routine/schedule, their medication schedule (if permitted), their likes/dislikes, training phrases you use (stay, wait, come, here etc), what they do when they need to go to the toilet, and any other useful information I should know.

It’s important for me to know your dogs general behaviour on walks and whether if they get triggered by e.g people/ passing traffic and how they are on the lead. It’s important for me to know how to accommodate to their needs on a walk and in the house. Do they have a tendency to bark in the house during the day or at night? Do they have the tendency to have accidents/scent in the house? Are they destructive in the house?
A typical day
I love to go on long walks. I live really close to south common where we can play fetch. They would have free range of the downstairs part of the house and there’s lots of room to play:)
