Compassionate care for your pets
Pet care experience
Choosing someone to take the responsibility of caring for your fur-baby can be really nerve wracking! This is where I come in. Hello! My name is Emily, thank you for considering me to care for your pets. I have worked in various professional pet care environments over the years including boarding facilities and pet stores. I have been caring for pets via Rover for a several years and love it. During my time working at a pet hotel, I encountered hundreds of dogs ranging from the tiniest Chihuahua to the most massive Mastiff, and everything in between. It also provided me with the opportunity to work with special needs, elderly and aggressive dogs. This gave me a lot of experience in observing their behaviors as well as caring for them. Each one is so unique, with their own personality and quirks. This makes working with them so special. While I haven't owned a dog, I have spent enough time taking care of them that I feel beyond confident in my ability to care for your pup. My experience with cats is very strong. I have been around cats my entire life, at one point I ended up having over 20 fosters in my care (4 pregnant fosters gave birth within 3 days of each other - so much fun!). I have rescued many strays, one of which I still have in my care (Peanut). I have bottle fed orphaned kittens and cuddled old timers during their final moments on this earth. Having dealt with all different types of temperaments, I have no fear or anxiety around aggressive animals of any kind (especially kitties). I have experience with giving oral medication (i.e. pills AND liquid), as well as taking temperatures, and minor grooming (i.e. brushing, removing mats, and clipping nails). I have had a nice variety of Rover clients including super energetic pups, wild kitties, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, snails and fishes! I am familiar with working through Rover and can answer any questions you have. - I also offer care for small animals such as bunnies, birds, and reptiles; caring for these animals will have the same rate as cat care. I love sitting through Rover, and am so excited to hear from you soon!
Reviews
Emily was the most competent, caring, and thorough house/pet sitter! She took incredible care of our puppy, cat, chickens, and fish and exceeded our expectations on all levels. She communicated regularly and how things were going and also included pictures. She problem solved our puppy going into heat while we were away and was able to survive the experience without WiFi (went out early on during her stay. Emily was incredibly knowledge about pet care for all of our pets, was very flexible in handling various situations, and is a very nice person who our pets really took to! We greatly appreciated her work and will absolutely use her again to care for our pets!
Emily was fantastic! We have previously had some bad experiences with house sitters, this was just the opposite. Clear communication, updates, and everything we asked was done. Not only did she take care of our dog and cat, but she also took on 7 chickens,2 guinnea pigs, and a rabbit with no problem at all. She is a rockstar!
Emily was great! She took excellent care of our elderly and sometimes troublesome beagle and we arrived home to him happy and healthy. Communication was great and she was very reliable. I would have no hesitation booking again.
Another flawless house/pet sitting experience with Emily! She’s wonderful and my 2 guys love her. She always sends amazing photos and keeps me well in the loop. Super grateful to have her around when we need her! ❤️

I always meet with my clients beforehand to ensure I'm a good fit for their pet and to go over all care instructions. It's important to me that both you and your pet feel safe and comfortable with me, which is why I follow your care instructions as closely as possible. Dogs are always on leash with me and cats stay in the house (unless instructed otherwise). I'd always rather be safe than sorry, so I like to play cautious on walks when encountering other animals or people.
Information Emily H. would like to know about your pet
It's important for me to know how my visits/stays will change up their daily routine, this way I can do my best to keep things normal. If there is anything you feel that its good/important to know, please tell me. Some specifics: - Aggression/anxiety towards other animals/objects etc.? - Are there any spots where they do not like to be pet? - Allergies? - Diet restrictions? - Prominent medical conditions? ANY AND ALL SIZES AND BREEDS ARE WELCOME!!!
A typical day
First and foremost, there will be lots of love and attention given, no matter if it's a dog or cat. Nothing can stop me from giving lots of hugs and pets. Dogs: Long walks in the woods, in town or on the beach. Fetch, tug o' war, Frisbee... anything that will get their heart pumping and tag wagging. Cats: Cat nip galore. We will play with all the toys they like, until they're pooped. Lots of hanging out together, snuggling... really anything they want to do (as we all know, they do what they want!).

I work part time right now and I don't have any pets at the moment, so I'm excited to hang out with some cuties and get out of the apartment.
