Pup vacations on Lake Merritt!
Pet care experience
~ Discounts for longer stays (4+ days)! ~ I’ve taken care of my family dog and neighbors’ and friends’ pets since I was 11. More recently I took care of my family’s beloved corgi Cricket as he neared the end of his life (he passed away peacefully this spring.) I’m experienced in caring for dogs of all ages, including elderly dogs with medical issues, as I gave Cricket twice-daily insulin shots to control his diabetes. I promise to love and care gently for your pup while they’re my guest! I live with my partner in a clean and spacious (800 sq ft) apartment one block away from Lake Merritt. I walk/run around the lake at least once per day, so I’m happy to host active dogs.

Emily is definitely one of the best pet sitter I have came across in Oakland! She took the time to meet my dog Tako, taking to the time to learn all his needs, before taking him in for boarding. Communication was a breeze, she always replied my questions in a timely manner. During Tako’s boarding, she would send me updates and pics, making sure I don’t need to worry too much during my vacation. Best of all, she is very accommodating to my changing schedule, and also went the extra mile to pick up my dog in SF.
Emily did a really great job with my 1.5 year old Mini Aussie Cooper and went above and beyond walking and spending time with him. This was our very first walk with Emily and I could tell she took time to get comfortable with him and did an amazing job! She kept in mind the things we told her ahead of time and gave us updates and pics. Thank you Emily!
Emily was extremely accommodating for our pups stay. Additionally her communication was very timely and she kept us up to date with checkins. We will def be utilizing her again in the near future ?
I entirely trust Emily to take care of any dog. She took care of my dog even in his old age This required that the dog take 3 insulin shots over the day, be fed a very specific diet, and walked during specific hours. I had been nervous about how insulin shots would go but in a short time, Emily found a way to calm him down and administer his shot. He clearly adored her. I highly recommend!

A typical day
I love to play with dogs! I love puzzle toys and chew toys, and I have lots of experience playing with dogs who are not super enthusiastic players :) I will match your pet’s energy and interests to the best of my ability. I also live right by Lake Merritt, and do a daily walk/run around the perimeter (~3 miles) and I’m happy to include your doggo.

Availability
Besides the two days I go into the office, I work full-time and remotely from home, so I’ll be able to watch over any furry guests I have! My job also allows for plenty of long breaks for outside activity. Weekends I can take your pup on a fun adventure to the park or to the beach. I love being outdoors in my free time, and will happily share the fun with your doggo.
