Hello! My name is Emily, and I'm already so stoked to meet your pets! I grew up walking and caring for my neighbors' dogs since I couldn't have my own, and now I really enjoy pet-sitting for other people. I finally have my own dogs now, two chihuahuas that are both rescues, Dobby and Neville. Working with rescue dogs has been challenging but so, so rewarding! They will need to come stay at your house too if I sit for you, but they are great with other dogs and are housebroken. I view pets as part of the family and feel it's very important that they are well cared for and know they are loved. Looking forward to meeting you and your furry family members!

Emily Fossen served as our house-sitter/dog caregiver over the past two years on numerous occasions, from 3 day weekends to 3 weeks while we were out of the country. She studied with me in college, so I knew her well and selected her because of her absolute sense of responsibility and her warm, caring nature. Our dogs, one senior cancer survivor and one rambunctious young fellow, love her so much that they adopted her into the pack. They only "sing" for us and for Emily when we arrive home. She is the best dog caregiver one could hope to have because she keeps them safe, healthy and happy, whether feeding them, taking them for walks, playing endlessly with the young guy, or cuddling them. Now that she has moved to another city, our door is always open for her to come visit with us and our furry family.

I'm open to any breed, size, age, and most temperaments. I've had experience with very young pups as well as senior dogs. I'm not intimidated by dogs unless they're very obviously going to attack. I've encountered nervous/protective dogs but have been able to get them to warm up to me. Before I care for you dog, of course I'd like to know if he or she has any medical or behavioral needs-- the more informed I can be, the better!
A typical day
I like to look for nearby parks, but if there's a cool place a little further I'll load the kennel in my car and we'll head there! I'm a fan of practicing tricks, fetch, and long tummy rub sessions. Additionally, I'm naturally organized and enjoy cleaning, so if I dogsit for you there's a good chance I'll end up doing dishes, making beds, etc. One important thing to note is that I typically work 8 hour shifts Tues-Sat and am not always able to leave work for lunch to check on pets while I'm working. If your pet is able to be left alone for up to 8 hours, then this will work!
