Pet care experience
I have grown up with dogs and cats as pets, and have tons of experience caring for animals young and older since middle school. In my adult years, I have loved getting to walk and care for the dogs and pets of close friends, family, and colleagues. My fiancé and I have 2 dogs ourselves, so we understand how very important it is to trust that your pets are in the very best hands when you can’t be there. I am a full-time grad student at the moment, however I am in my final clinical rotation and working flexible hours Mondays-Fridays, and my weekends are always pretty flexible. I am an active person who loves to hike, run, and get outside, so if you have an active pet who likes to get out and adventure, I’d love to take them along as an added bonus! *I will also have a lot of availability in December as I will be graduating and studying to take the boards :) Based on your personal preferences with your pet, I can be available for check-ins to play with your animals in or out of the house, let them outside, take them on walks/hikes/runs, ensure they are fed/watered, bathe/brush them if needed, clean litter boxes, administer medication, etc. I also have a big fenced in yard with 2 older dogs—a yellow lab and a boxer, so if your dog gets along well with other dogs, I would be happy to bring it over to run around at my open-spaced home with my pups! *I am willing to host dogs in my home overnight on the basis that they are friendly and non-aggressive, house-trained, and get along with my own dogs. I will decide this on a case by case basis :)
Reviews
Emily was not only overly communicative (she sent so many photos which we were thankful for!) but she was so kind with Ansley. We felt confident leaving Ansley with Emily and will definitely book again!
Emily was an absolute dream of a house and dog sitter. We got tons of great updates with adorable pictures of our Newton. She went above and beyond when our flight was delayed, and she even shoveled our sidewalks when it snowed. We will absolutely be coming back to book Emily again and again.
Emily communicates flawlessly and professionally. Definitely will be utilizing her in the future for visits! My mind was at ease what she watched my cat
To say Emily is an animal person would be an understatement. Not only does she care for her two dogs, Gemma and Deacon, with attention, kindness, love and energy, she has spent her life riding and raising horses - or as she refers to them, “big dogs”. She’s smart with animals and makes sure that every situation is safe and enjoyable for the pets involved. I would trust her with my pets, my kids, my home….you get the point.

I make sure that the pets in my care get the very best love and attention. As a pet owner myself, I understand how stressful it can be to trust someone with the furry members of your family while you are gone, so I do everything I can to make sure your animals keep to their routine, get the exercise and playtime they need, and get all the extra snuggles and pets they want! It is my ultimate goal for pet owners to return home to their furry babes knowing they were provided with the utmost loving care when they were gone!
Information Emily D. would like to know about your pet
Feeding times and food preferences, whether or not they get along with other dogs/animals, and whether or not they get along with all humans. Any allergies they may have or phobias/things that might make them nervous is important for me to know as well so I can provide the very best support for your pup. Any favorite activities or toys they have and favorite places to run around would be helpful as well :)
A typical day
I love to go hiking, go running, take dogs to a reservoir or creek when it’s hot out, throw the ball and toys for fetch, and go on long walks. There is a trail that backs up to my neighborhood where I love to walk our dogs around the reservoir, and our fenced in backyard is a great space for dogs to run around and play.
