Pet care experience
I have had a dog of my own for 11 years, before owning my dog I pet sat multiple animals from a young age through family and friends. I have been pet sitting through Rover since November 2018, I have watched a variety of breeds and ages with different personalities through doggy day care, at home boarding, house visits, and the occasional dog walk. Responsible for walking, feeding, potty breaks, providing medications if needed and depending on the age - maintaining the training plan.. and of course giving them all of the attention they need!

Emily and her mom (also on Rover) picked up our dog after our wedding ceremony and kept him overnight while we enjoyed our reception. They made it possible for him to be a part of our special day. We met up with them prior to Finnigan’s stay so that he could become familiar with them, their dog and their house. Emily and her mom are both so kind and I knew from the moment I met them that Finn would be in good hands. They kept me updated throughout the night with pictures of Finn. I can’t thank them enough for taking care of our boy on our special day.

I boarded my dog overnight with Emily and was very happy with the care she provided for him. Emily kindly accomodated me very last minute when something came up and she carefully followed all the instructions I provided her with. I can tell she's a true animal lover from the patience she showed for my dog, who is very curious and high energy in new environments. She embraced his personality, played with him, and communicated with me the whole time throughout his stay. She also sent us pictures and videos! I recommend Emily's services to everyone! Emily took care of my two cats while I was away for the Xmas holidays. I was very satisfied with her service from the moment I reached out to her. The communication was great throughout the time I was away. She sent me pictures of my cats which assured me that they were happy, safe and they very much enjoyed Emily’s company. I typically like to visit the home before hand to be shown everything necessary to care for your animal in the way that they will be most comfortable with me being in their home, and to ensure their routine remains relatively the same as what they are used to. I like to provide clients with frequent updates with pictures and videos, especially when it is someone’s first time using Rover - it takes some getting used to!

A typical day
I try to go for a walk every day even when I am not pet sitting, so going for a long walk is a normal part of my routine. I am familiar with several dog friendly trails in the area and I like to try to give the dogs I’m watching a new area to explore - as long as they are comfortable. With the owners consent I have also taken dogs to a local dog park to socialize with other dogs. I prefer to keep the dogs schedule fairly consistent with what their usual day to day routine is, so in terms of what you can expect from me - just let me know how you want your dog to spend their day!

Availability
I do have a full time job where I work 8am-5pm Monday through Friday. I also have a part time job, however this schedule is flexible. Depending on the location, I am also available for drop in visits/potty break during my lunch hour (12:00pm-1:00pm).
