Hi! I’m Emily, a Third Year at UVA (Go Hoo’s!) I own a Great Pyrenees rescue named Panda who is a handful in the best way. I have experience caring for her for 4 years and have taken care of other’s dogs in the years prior. Last summer, I worked full time at a doggie daycare as a Canine Coach, where I took care of all sorts of dogs, from Chihuahuas to Great Danes. I also have volunteered at a rescue for 2 years handling and walking new rescues as they met potential owners for the first time. Thanks to Panda, I also have ample experience with dog hair and nail clipping (she has dew claws). I can also brush a dog’s teeth and bathe them if needed. Additionally, I am also a huge fan of dog training and would love to teach your dog a few new tricks. I am offering to walk and/or check in on your dogs throughout the day. Emily was an amazing sitter to Coco. She took care of him while I was away for over a week. When I came back, coco was happy and rested. I knew he was in good hands. Thank you for everything, including playing with him and making sure he took his meds. 💗💗💗
Emily watched our dogs Pepperoni and Rogue a second time and took good care of them, including helping with some medication as well while we were gone. Lots of pictures throughout her stay as well.

Emily watched our dogs Pepperoni and Rogue for two weeks while we were traveling. We chose her because of her experience working with rescue dogs, and it was a great decision. She was very attentive to their routine and medication, and made sure to send regular updates, photos, and questions. I would absolutely ask Emily to take care of our dogs again!

I love to let dogs investigate while they’re walking- to them, it’s like reading the newspaper! I want to make sure they’re up to date with current events, so your dogs walk will be at their pace, not mine. I’m also able to stick to any routine you have set, to make sure your dog feels at ease.

I would like to know how your dog reacts around new people, are they fearful, excited, nervous? How do they react if they see another dog on a walk? Do they guard their food/water/toys/bed etc? Is there any specific behavior I should be on the lookout for?
A typical day
Frisbee is one of my favorite games to play with dogs, and most dogs seem to enjoy it. I will also play fetch, tug, and hide and seek with your dog to keep them active and occupied.

Availability
I’m a full time student, but this semester I don’t have classes before 11 am or after 3:30 pm (except for on Wednesday’s where I have class until 6:30). Morning and evening walks are ideal for me because of this!
