Dog mom w/ experience & flexibility

Pet care experience

I’ve been a dog mom for 12 years with one small senior dog of my own. I lost two sweet senior girls to heart failure and seizure disorder in 2023. I have a lot of experience with senior care, monitoring conditions, and giving meds. I have also fostered many dogs for various local rescues. I’ve worked in management in the grooming & natural pet industries and have experience with nearly all breeds. I’ve trained puppies and currently care for my sweet Geno. I love all dogs of all ages! If your dog really enjoys exercise, I’m happy to put in the miles with them if needed, but I also know it’s important to slow down and enjoy some quality sniffing time. I’m a huge fan of mental exercise, love to play games, but also just relax & cuddle. Our dog loves to travel with us, but on trips that he must stay home, I still manage to meet a dog somewhere. I’ve even traveled to Utah to volunteer at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary! I've lived in this area my entire life and am familiar with many local neighborhoods. I always keep an eye on the weather to make sure our walks are enjoyable and safe. I also have experience with many types of harnesses, collars, and leashes and I'm happy to make adjustments & recommendations to ensure a comfortable walk for all. I’m an energetic person and would love to help you and your dog in any way that I can, through hosting in our home, check ins in your home, or walking to get out and enjoy the outdoors as much as I do!

Emily was fantastic! Our 9 year old Chihuahua mix Rocket had the best time with her and her pack of sweet senior doggies. She sent wonderful updates every day along with lots of pictures. Our whole family looked forward to the daily update! We will definitely book with Emily again.

I can't say enough great things about Emily ! Best dog walker I've had! I have a puppy with a tibial fracture and she takes the utmost care to follow all his excercise/activity restrictions . Highly recommend!

Emily was awesome! First, she came over for a meet & greet at my request as my dog can be weird with strangers. She was great with her. I can tell she takes it very seriously and that certainly eased any anxieties I had. She showed up promptly when requested and did everything requested of her. She rocks

Emily is so great with Gustav on his mid day walks! She send lots of pictures and a summary of how everything went. Gus has a great time with her!

Safety, trust & environment

For pets staying in our home - our dog is crate trained, well groomed, and calm. He gets along with other dogs well. We live in a private, quiet location with a fully fenced yard to run & play. We own too many dog beds to count, and 2 extra bedrooms so your dog can have their own space if needed. I use only natural cleaning products on our floors. Our quiet, clean, and calm house is a true 'home away from home' for your dog. if your dog loves walks, we have a mile long loop and several neighborhoods close by that are perfect for walking. I am very familiar & comfortable with giving meds and special diets. My dog eats better than I do! Refrigerated fresh or raw diets are no problem here. For pet care in your home - as a homeowner myself, I am always conscious of caring for yours. I take security and safety very seriously. I am sure to turn on/off lights, double check that doors are locked, and leave your home cleaner that I found it. I am happy to collect mail, water plants, etc if you are away for a few days. If your pup is nervous, anxious, or a potential flight risk for any reason, I will ask use a backup leash for added security.

Information Emily B. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know of any behavior quirks, medical issues, or other special needs ahead of time. I just want to be sure I can take care of your pet in the best & safest way possible! For boarding guests - For safety reasons, we strongly prefer to host crate trained dogs. If your dog is not crate trained, please let me know and we will make sure they have a safe, secure, and comfortable space to call their own for sleeping and brief periods of time that I may need to leave home to take care of my walking clients. If they have any type of separation anxiety this is especially important. I do ask that your dog be housebroken and well groomed, as ours is. Obviously accidents happen - especially with puppies - and we are very understanding of that! However, if your dog has known marking behaviors, please be honest & upfront. A clean environment is important for the health of our dog and future guests.

A typical day

I love to offer both mental & physical exercise to your dog. We can play treat puzzles, fetch, take a long or short walk, and of course take time to sniff. Cuddles and scratches are important too, if they’re up for it! Our home is a safe place for your dog to relax while you are away. I usually have music playing softly and sometimes diffuse pet safe essential oils or burn candles. I also use only natural cleaning products.
