Pet care experience
COVID INFORMATION: I am fully vaccinated and boosted. I still mask up at all times when I’m near anyone outside of my family. – CALENDAR updated max every 48 hours – I have had pets my entire life and take joy in getting to know every animal and their own unique personality! I’ve worked with everything from cats, dogs, and birds, to lizards, snakes, and fish. I am also very familiar with common medical needs and would be happy to discuss your pet’s needs and even take on a new challenge if we both decide we’re comfortable with it. (Note: NO PET SPIDERS. Even if it’s never gotten out of its enclosure. Scorpions are fine.)
Reviews
Emily did a great job of caring for our senior dog at the last minute in our house for several days. Our house was in wonderful shape when we returned and our dog was clearly well cared for. We appreciated how she kept in daily touch with us and followed our instructions. We would be happy to call her again!! Thanks, Emily!
Emily always takes wonderful care of our pets!
Second time Emily has watched my special needs corgi, and she was wonderful with him.
Excellent sitter! We knew our pets were in good hands. Our dog took to Emily right away. Will book with her again!

While I am in your home, what you say goes. Whatever rules you have set for your pet, I will enforce them to the best of my abilities. I want your pet to have a relaxing time while you’re away, but that doesn’t mean I’ll let them get into rule-breaking habits while you’re not looking. As for me, I know it can be stressful having a stranger in your home, so I try to impose as little on your space as possible. This usually means that when I’m not playing with your pet actively, all I really do is watch TV. Because I am out and about so much, I will hardly even cook while at your home. When I leave, I make sure to leave your home in a state you will be happy to come home to.
Information Emily A. would like to know about your pet
While I don’t have any breed restrictions, due to a shoulder injury I can not walk dogs above 50lbs. However, if you have an enclosed backyard and your dog does not need walks, we could probably make something work! I have worked with very large dogs that are unable to go on walks for various reasons and we’ve had lovely times :)
A typical day
One of my favorite things about walking dogs is being able to see a new part of Portland, led by a dog’s nose :) I will never let your pet off-leash while we’re outdoors unless it is a fully enclosed space like your backyard or a dog park. I am experienced with retractable leashes, if your pet is as well, so they can have as much exploration space as possible while we’re out. If you have a favorite spot, I’d love to hear about it so your pet and I can explore it while we’re hanging out together.

Availability
Outside of Rover, I work in management at a part-time retail job. This means I will have to be away for up to 9 hours at a time, including travel to and from work. However, I only work 2-3 days a week, so depending on the length of your trip, I may not have any shifts at all! On those days, I will occasionally go out for a few hours to do some Instacart shopping, but usually will just spend the entire day playing with your pet! My goal is your pet’s comfort and your own ability to focus on your travels carefree!
