Certified Dog Trainer! + Large Yard
Pet care experience
My Pet Care Experience: Growing up I cared for dogs, kittens, small animals, and reptiles. I began working with animals professionally in 2019 at an animal shelter, and worked full time with cats and dogs for the last 3 1/2 years. In 2020 I became a Certified Dog Trainer (CCPDT-KA) through the Council of Certified Professional Dog Trainers. In 2021 I earned my FearFree Certification as well. My focus is in behavior consulting, so if your dog is leash reactive, a resource guarder, or scared of strangers, I am happy to work with them. In my free time I foster orphaned neonatal kittens for local rescues and have fostered almost 30 kittens, caring for animals is my true passion!

I pride myself on following a pet parent’s directions down to the very last detail. As a pet parent myself I completely understand the anxiety that can come with trusting a stranger with your most precious family members, so I will always do everything I can to negate that feeling! This means unless asked otherwise I will send photos and updates multiple times throughout my visit with your pets, and will do everything I can to make sure you feel comfortable and confident leaving your pet in my care.
Information Emery G. would like to know about your pet
I like to know as many details as the pet parent can provide, especially since it varies depending on the service. Typical information I would like from a pet parent includes any allergies, medical conditions, behavior needs, how much they eat and when, if they have any triggers and what they are, what you expect out of the service, etc. I will ask you all of the questions I have depending on what service I am providing, especially if you would also like for me to do training with your pet as well. If you aren’t sure if it’s important, tell me anyway! At the end of the day I always enjoy talking about not only animals, but individual animals and their unique personalities.

My favorite part about meeting new dogs is finding out what THEY have the most fun doing. Some dogs love to have long sniff walks where they can sniff every blade of grass for as long as they want, some want to go running for as long as you can manage, some enjoy combining walks with training. I like to do what the dog enjoys most. Animal enrichment is a topic of interest of mine and I love to work with animals to see what they find most enriching. My favorite spot to take dogs is Woodland Heights park, there are many trails, water options, and it is usually very quiet and secluded, its perfect for dogs who need a relaxing, quiet, enriching outing. For kitties I feel that sometimes playtime is overlooked but it is just as essential as it is for dogs! Whether it’s catnip, tossing toys, toy wands, I will figure out what your cat’s favorite enrichment activity is! For my cats they have a revolving option of toys, tunnels, scratchers, food puzzles, etc. Anything to get their little brains working.

My Schedule: Pet care is my entire life! I am a full time online student so I currently have an open schedule to attend to any pet needs. I am also a full time neonatal kitten foster, that requires me to sometimes be awake every two hours for feedings! I am happy to come by for early morning walks so you can sleep in and your dog can get a nice long walk before it’s too hot, or swing by for an early feeding to keep your cat’s regular schedule.
