I am sharing my experience with Emadgeawon as a warning to other Rover users who might book him in the future. I had a thoroughly negative experience and hope that this review can help others avoid a similar time. I booked Emadgeawon for a 10 day stay for my dog Junie, a ~1 year old golden retriever as I was going to be out of town for the winter holidays. The plan was to have him watch Junie for 10 days, and then a friend of mine would pick up Junie and watch her until I returned. I checked the reviews for Emadgeawon on Rover and they seemed good enough, nothing negative really stood out. I exchanged messages with him and we decided on December 16 for pickup, he said he would come between 9:10-10. This is where the problems began; he showed up late (10:51) and brought his two boxers in the car as well, leaving little space for all three dogs. I handed off Junie with a bag of her stuff, enough food for the stay with him (as well as additional food in another bag that was not to be used during her stay but was for my friend after she picked her up) and her big dog bed. Emadgeawon agreed to my care instructions and took Junie. He had mentioned there would be a one other dog present in addition to his own two dogs during Junie's stay which was fine with me. We talked about it briefly but the reality was that Emadgeawon had multiple-booked himself to watch dogs overlapping with Junie's stay and was watching 8-9 dogs total. This is absolutely information that should have been disclosed to me and I would have looked for someone else to watch my dog if I had known there would be that many dogs. Furthermore, not all of the dogs were of the same size and temperment. Junie is naturally skittish around larger dogs and had I known he was going to be watching a doberman would have been enough reason for me to look elsewhere. The doberman in question was also not well trained, adding to the problems, I have texts from Emadgeawon that mention how the dog pooped and peed inside the house and on the other dogs, and how he was going to have to charge that dog's owner additional charges for cleaning and whatnot. This is further made worse by the fact that when Junie was picked up by my friend, her dog bed was soaked in pee and completely ruined (I had to throw it out). Junie herself stank of pee and as she is usually a very clean dog, I can only imagine that she slept on the bed soaked in other dog's pee or she was peed on. Emadgeawon clearly made no attempt to clean up after my dog despite the heavy pee smell and his defense over my text amounted to a "I left the door to the yard open the whole time" when I asked about why Junie and her bed were soaked in pee. Furthermore, Junie had fleas on her when she was picked up and had to be taken for a flea bath and then monitored to make sure there were no eggs or remaining fleas. The sitter's defense here was to send a single picture of his own dog's stomach with "no fleas here, dunno where she got them." His home was the only place Junie could have picked up these fleas as she didn't have them before being picked up (if she had, the other dogs would have probably gotten them no?) and his complete lack of sympathy and refusal to consider the idea that maybe one of the 9 strange dogs he was watching or his unattended yard could have brought this element into the mix was horrible. The fleas may have been picked up accidentally, but the refusal to even acknowledge the possibility was very unprofessional. Furthermore, when Junie was picked up, she was visibly heavier and the food that I had asked him to not use (as it was for the next caretaker) had clearly been used meaning Junie had been overfed. I asked him for some kind of compensation to help me handle these issues (dog bed soaked in pee that had to be thrown out, cleaning cost for the flea bath, poor care of my dog overall) and he immediately turned hostile, claiming I was fabricating these claims "for money" and even when I sent over texts from the groomer, he denied them as hoaxes. Throughout this whole mess, I hadn’t gotten a single apology or any sign of remorse. There are other minor details I’m leaving out for the sake of length, but the overall experience with Emadgeawon was bad and I feel terrible that my dog had to go through such a thing with this person. I contacted Rover but they don't reimburse for fleas nor "bad care" so my only course of action here is to leave this review and hope that others avoid using Emadgeawon so they don't go through a similar experience. When he agreed to take care of my dog, he entered into a contract of agreeing to my instructions and properly caring for my dog. He did not hold up his end of the bargain and clearly treated the job like a moneymaking scheme (taking on multiple dogs overlapped without disclosing it to the owners) then tried to make it seem like I was money-grubbing when I asked for compensation for his poor care. Don't use Emadgeawon, look elsewhere, properly vet the people you hand your precious pets to and don't make them go through something like this.
