Pet care experience
About this sitter: I am an NCSU alumnus (Go Wolfpack!) with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science. I have been an animal lover since I was born and I absolutely love being a pet sitter. Not only do I get to spend time with wonderful animals, but I also get to make connections with their owners. I have been fostering shelter dogs and cats as well as taking care of client pets since I was in high school and also have basic veterinary knowledge. I previously managed a large pet resort in Wake Forest where I was responsible for anywhere from 20 to 120 animals on any given day. I now work full time in an office, but my husband works from home so we are able to offer daycare as well as frequent potty breaks for boarders. My husband also has a lot of animal experience and has been helping me with pet sitting jobs for years. We currently have two dogs, three cats, theee horses, two fish tanks, and a flock of chickens. Our pets are very accustomed to new animals coming into our house. We have experience with all types and sizes of dogs; everything from chihuahuas to St. Bernards! We are both mature, responsible, adults and most importantly, trustworthy. We may be able to offer daily walks or drop-ins depending on your location. Our home is located in Zebulon near East Wake Veterinary Hospital. We look forward to meeting you and your four-legged family members! How I got started: My mom was the head secretary at the high school that I attended so I got to know most of the faculty and staff there and began pet/house sitting for them. I moved to Raleigh as an NCSU freshman in 2011 and was excited to discover Rover, which has allowed me to build a new client base and continue doing what I love. Why I love dog sitting: My mom was also a veterinary technician for several years and I share her lifelong passion for animals. My first memory as a kid is playing in the snow with our jack russel mix named Pearl and I have never in my life been without at least two dogs in the family! I also foster for the Wake County Animal Center so I have plenty of experience with larger dog breeds, especially (but not limited to) pitbulls.

Elora and Taylor were great with my dog and gave him a lot of love! I appreciate them hanging out and playing with him while we were away.
Elora and her family are the best animal caregivers you can ever ask for! She has both cat and dog sat for us multiple times and our fur babies are always extremely well taken care of and looked after. Our fur babies are family and we would never leave them with anyone else except Elora and her family, she is the only one we trust with our pets! They are well loved and cared for when with her. Thank you so much!

We want our guests to feel at home, so we do our best to keep their regular routines. We provide crates, bedding, etc. or if your pup is used to sleeping in bed with you that's fine too! Our backyard is securely fenced with a view of the farm animals and clean water is always on tap.

Information Elora S. would like to know about your pet
Please be able to show proof of rabies for your pet. We absolutely do not have any breed preferences when it comes to caring for your pets; every animal deserves the best treatment possible! Before sitting for any dog (or cat!), we like to know basic things such as how much/when they eat, where they like to sleep, etc. so that we have an idea of their normal behavior. We also like to know if they have any issues; aggression, medications, certain things they're scared of, allergies, etc. Our only restrictions for boarding are that dogs must be house and/or crate trained and cat-friendly. We will make exceptions for puppies who are still in potty training.
A typical day
We always try to make sure that our guests are having too much fun with us to be stressed about their parents being gone! We're happy to walk them to the magic spot where they like to poop, let them snuggle under the covers with us, and do anything else that will keep them from getting stressed. We live in a quiet area and our dogs love having furry friends over.

Availability
Our pets are our family, and we treat all of our guests the same way! I'm at work during the day but since my husband works at home he is able to give our guests plenty of potty breaks and attention while I'm gone.
