VSA Certified Pro Dog Trainer

Pet care experience

I've always loved animals but dogs have something special about them! I think the bond that develops between a human and dog is incredible. As the proud puppy parent of three fur balls myself, I know how difficult it can be to be away from your best friends. I love that I'm able to make that time apart less stressful for the owners and their beloved pets because I take care of each pet as if they were mine. It’s also a great way to give back to the community, and I just love making pups happy! I have had several dogs over the past almost 10 years that varied in size, breed, personality, and health issues. I currently have 4 large dogs of my own. I am comfortable with caring for dogs with medical routines as well from personal experience. I have experience working with dogs with chronic health conditions, administration of medications and basic grooming. I am also trained in pet Heimlich maneuvers and CPR. Additionally, I have experience caring for cats and smaller animals such as guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, and reptiles. I love animals of all kinds and love to meet new animal friends! I would love to offer care for other types of animals if that is needed. I always like to request a meet and greet beforehand to meet the client and their pet. I find just being calm and focusing on introducing myself to the client first is best. I let the dog smell me and get comfortable without any touch or attention first. If they seem comfortable and if I have permission from the client, I will oftentimes have a small treat with me to share to help us become friends even faster. I find this gets all of us off on a positive start, and I have yet to meet a dog that I haven't gotten along with! I have no breed or size preferences but I would like to know if a dog has food aggression or any other aggression triggers I should be aware of. During a stay, I believe that communication is key. I am bilingual and able to communicate with Spanish speaking clients. I always respond quickly to my client requests before booking, and always make myself available during a stay. While I am caring for their pet, most clients are reassured and appreciate an update during the day with a few pictures just to make sure the pooch is not stressed and doing well. Plus, you’ll be able to see just what we’ve done during the day and the big smile on their face. I am always available for any calls from my clients while their pet is in my care!

Elora was wonderful with our dog! She went above and beyond while we were out of town for the weekend. She brought puzzles and toys for him to work on. She was so great with him and I knew he was in great hands while we were away. She really cares about the pets she takes care of. Definitely recommend her and will use her again!

Elora is the best! She is so thorough and good with our cats and when we come home they are happy and content because they have received such great care. Plus, she feeds the birds and keeps everything at the house up to date.

Elora takes a personal interest in my pet. She brings toys and plays with him so he won't be lonely. She is dependable, trustworthy, accommodating and follows up in great details.

Elora was amazing! I found out shortly before my trip that one of my cats is diabetic, so I needed a sitter who could administer insulin. Elora was great with my cats. She played with them, anticipated stormy weather and prepared a space for my cat who's scared of storms. One of my cats is usually skittish, but she actually played and got pets from her! I was very nervous about leaving them, but she sent detailed information about her drop ins, took pictures and videos, and put me at ease. When I returned, the cats had missed me, but I could tell they weren't super stressed by my absence.

Information Elora M. would like to know about your pet

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? What’s your preferred method of communication? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?

A typical day

I live in a beautiful wooded neighborhood that my 4 dogs and I love to walk around and explore every day. There is a number of very well maintained dog parks with walking trails near my home. Although I always like to hear what your pup enjoys doing, I do have a general schedule for how a stay will typically go. We would start the morning with an energetic walk to explore the neighborhood or some playtime in the yard. Afterwards, we’ll have breakfast and some relaxation and snuggles for a few hours. Around afternoon, we’ll have some quality playtime outside with toys, games, and a few treats. Towards evening, we would have dinner and end the night with a final walk or yard play before we get ready to settle down for sleep.
