Someday when my house and finances are in order and I feel I can adopt an animal with my boyfriend, we will have a beagle. This hypothetical beagle will be trained and amazing, because we will instill values and discipline. Whenever I am required to gauge the temperature of whatever classroom I'm to be substitute teaching any particular day, I must establish both firm respect and a friendly rapport with the crowd of students I am working with. I understand this, because I have thorough experience in seeing different reactions and behavior strategies. This is relevant to dog-sitting because dogs, like us, work in a social system that requires both experience and an openness to learn about their behavior and history. I admittedly have not had a dog since I was a teenager, but that is because I understand that dogs take a frequently unappreciated level of security and care to maintain. I am eager to gain insight, education, and experience in order to fulfill my duty as a dog-sitter.
