One dog at a time

Pet care experience

HIGHLIGHTS: * 20 years of experience * I offer **boarding** in my home; **house sitting** in yours * I only board one pet at a time * My house is clean, calm, and comfortable * Top-down Jeep with a dog ramp for easy access * No additional kids or pets are in my home * Weather permitting, I'll take your dog to the park, beach, & forests * Rover "Star Sitter" designation ABOUT ME: I have been a dog- and cat-foster parent and/or animal caretaker for the SPCA, the Trustees, and other animal rescues for the last 20 years, and I'm proud to say I've helped with the adoption process of over 500 rescues. Through this work, I've learned how to keep animals, from goats to rabbits to cats to dogs, feel calm, safe, and well-adjusted. Rover gives me a chance to hang out with animals more regularly, and to meet so many great pet-parents. It's truly been a delight to meet people who love their furbabies and work so hard to keep them safe, well-adjusted, and happy. MY LOCATION: My house is convenient to Rt 60, Rt 1, and Rt 1A. It's just 10 minutes North of Logan Airport - making it convenient for you to drop off/pickup your pet as part of your travel plans. Parking by house is super easy - you don't have to search for long to find a spot, and I'll help you bring everything in. MY AVAILABILITY: I keep my Rover calendar very current. To check, my availability, ** click on the individual days ** in the calendar my profile, which will tell you how many boarding or house sitting spots I have left. Alternatively, if you want to just set up a booking, I'll get back to you quickly and let you know if I'm available. MY HOUSE: My house is an airconditioned, two-story walkup with a small backyard. The first floor has a gated kitchen (to prevent counter-surfing) and access to the backyard. On the main floor, pets are welcome to snooze on any surface they would prefer, including a large pet bed and a wrap-around sectional. A carpeted staircase connects the downstairs to the upstairs. On the upper floors, pets are welcome to snooze on our bed or couches - wherever they feel comfortable. Cats in my home will enjoy a ropes-and-cubbies cat-tower that is also disinfected between stays. ** All of the surfaces, floors, toys, and bedding are cleaned between boarding visits. ** MY CAR: Dogs love my Jeep Wrangler. If your dog likes car rides, I'll take them for a ride in the Jeep, top-down if the weather permits. I have a safety clip in the car to keep a dog safely inside the car. If your dog needs assistance getting into and out of the Jeep, I can either carry them in/out or they can use my dog ramp.

Lady just had her first over night with Elliott. It was clear when we picked her up that she had been treated with kindness and compassion. We greatly appreciate that she was not only safe and secure, but she had received the affection she craves.

Our dog Bear had her first multi-night stay with Elliot and Jodie, and we could not be any happier with how it went. Elliot sent us many pictures and updates of Bear, and followed the care plan exactly as discussed. We look forward to working with them again in the future.

Elliot and his wife were absolutely amazing!! We had never left our husky with anyone who wasn’t family and we were very nervous but we did a meet and greet beforehand and the reviews sold us. We are so glad we went with them! We got daily pictures and updates and our husky got lots of walks from them! She stayed with them for 10 days and it was worry free! So thankful to have found them and we will definitely use them again in the future. Koda says thank you for all the love!

Lady just had her first visit with Elliot. She has had a traumatic past and does not respond well to strangers, however in this case, she immediately seemed to feel safe and comfortable. We are very grateful for the peace of mind he provided!

Information Elliot C. would like to know about your pet

STEP 1: Meet-n-Greet (MnG) Thirty-minute MnGs in my home are _required_ for boarding. When you set up a booking, please let me know when you'd like to schedule an MnG. For boarding clients, we'll meet at my house in Revere; for house sitting clients, we'll meet at your house. We'll go over: 1. Medicine: what kind of medicine does your pet take and how often? 2. Food: what kind of food does your pet eat and how often? Any food allergies? 3. Behavior: does your pet have any behavioral or social issues? 4. Grooming: does your pet have any grooming issues? 5. Physical: does your pet have any other medical issues? 6. Schedule: let's narrow down your pickup/dropoff windows to 2 hours 7. Would you like me to attempt a dog wash and dry close to the end of the stay? -- STEP 2: ACCEPTING THE BOOKING If we mutually decide its a good fit, I'll accept the booking on my end, and then you'll also need to accept the booking on your end. Once you accept the booking, there's a few things that are helpful for you to do: 1. On Rover, please fill out the feeding details and vet details for your pet. 2. Ensure your pet's physical tags and microchip listings are up-to-date. If you have moved recently, please call the microchip company to verify they have your new contact info. The chip only contains a number. The number is then associated to the last information you provided to the chip company. If there are still questions about whether we have good fit, I recommend a one-night trial. I'll help you book a night when you can drop off your dog for a night to see if any issues come up. -- STEP 3: DROP OFF Let me know when you're 15-30 minutes away. Parking is usually available right by my house, and I'll help you bring everything in. Please be sure to bring: * Attachable doggy ID tags - "if lost, call NNN-NNN-NNNN" at a minimum * Mealtime food * Medicine and pill pockets * Leash/lead and poo bags * Snacks, optionally including food for Kongs and lick mats * Recommended: one bag of snacks that are the size of Zuke's minis or Blue Bits. * Recommended: rain coat and/or winter coat * (Optional) Kongs, lick mats, slow feeders * (Optional) Crate, if needed * (Optional) Bedding, if it's smaller 4' x 4' * (Optional) Up to 5 toys, games, puzzles, if you prefer to provide your own I appreciate if you can give your dog a quick shampoo, nail trim and paw rinse prior to boarding. Checking for "Frito feet" and updating flea/tick treatments prior to boarding is always appreciated. I have hardwood floors that are easily scratched by long nails. -- STEP 4: THE STAY I'll send you pics and updates daily. It's always great to hear from owners during the stay. I greatly appreciate two-way communication. If you requested that I shampoo and wash your dog, I will attempt it on the last night. -- STEP 5: PICK UP/POST-VISIT When you're ~30 minutes out, send me a message and I'll pack up your pet and have them ready to go. If the weather is good, I'll set your supplies (crates, toys, bedding) outside so that it's easier to hand off your pet without having your hands full of supplies. When you stop by, I'll check in with you about your future booking needs. My weekends and holidays get booked 3-6 months in advance, so I encourage clients to get their bookings in early. A review is always **greatly** appreciated (even if you can just do the star rating for each stay), as are tips, which can be paid through the app. Be sure to click the heart icon on my profile to save my profile for future boardings. Referrals are also very much appreciated.

A typical day

A TYPICAL DAY (DOG): My neighborhood has several green spaces for walking dogs. Near to me are three large fields where dogs can enjoy running and playing on a long line. There is also a fenced dog park (Paws and Play off Rt 1) close by. I generally prefer to take dogs to the beach or forest for "outdoor" time. I enjoy taking dogs to local parks and beaches North of the city (including Nahant Beach and the green spaces throughout Cape Ann). From October - March, I takes dogs to Revere Beach. I will walk your dog according to the schedule they are used to, if you prefer; otherwise I usually take dogs for 4 walks / day. In between walks, dogs enjoy sleeping on all the plush sofas and beds I have or they can play with Kongs, ropes, balls, frisbees, and chew sticks. Some dogs enjoy the big screen TV, where they can watch dog competitions or "dog tv". At night, dogs can sleep on any surface they prefer, or I can crate them if you/they prefer that. A TYPICAL DAY (CAT): Cats in my care have free roam of air-conditioned space spaces in my house, unless otherwise requested by owners. I have mountains of toys for cats (balls, feathers, string toys and ribbons, crinkle toys) and a wood-and-sissal cat tower that can be easily cleaned between stays. I enjoy cuddle-time with kitties, so if your kitty is in search of a warm lap, look no further.
