Pet care experience
I have been a pet owner my entire life and I frequently watch dogs and cats for my neighbors when they travel out of town. I have experience with all size and types of dogs and am able to follow any training instructions you leave for us to work on! I am confident walking well trained dogs on leash with a collar, and also walking dogs requiring harnesses and a slightly firmer hand. I am also a cat lover, I would love to come cuddle and play with your feline companion! I am also very good with animals who are socially anxious and have difficulty with strangers as my own dog struggles with this (if you have an anxious dog or cat I would love to get to know them!). I am also adept at basic small animal care (fish tanks, reptiles, and rodents).

Ellie was super communicative and easy-going! Ellie came by over the weekend to feed our 7-year cat. We will definitely be booking Ellie again the next time we go away!
Ellie is such an incredible dog walker and person. She went above and beyond to make my shy/skittish dog feel comfortable, happy, and safe. Kira warmed up to Ellie right away. She sent photos to update me, which was comforting, and even spent the entire day tracking down insurance information to appease my landlords. I cannot recommend Ellie enough, she’s amazing and is my #1 whenever my dog needs walks!
Ellie was a perfect fit for our two cats while we were away for a weekend. She was very friendly and professional. It was clear she knew what she was doing and had plenty of experience with pets. Having two cats herself gave us confidence that she would have no trouble with ours. They were calm and happy when we returned and everything had been cleaned up in the litter box. It was a genuine relief to know our pets were in great hands while we were gone.

I am comfortable coming to your home and offering care within the familiar environment your pet knows! I am happy to take dogs on moderately long walks, either in the neighborhood or driving to a nearby leashed trail. I am also happy to let dogs out back and play in the yard.

I love any and all animals and have a wonderful track record of animals responding well to me. With that said I look forward to meeting your dog and or cat under your supervision to ensure there are no issues between us. I would love to know how big your dog is and how well they respond to strangers, what their favorite treat is (or if you don't do treats!), how they like to walk, and what you're looking for in a sitter! When I come for a meet and greet I prefer to either receive a key or confirm access through another way that same visit so that I can ensure I can get in to take care of your fur baby while you are out of town and not need to scramble right before you leave :-)
A typical day
After meeting you and your pet I would love to discuss the best places I can take your dog out for a walk, what training we can work on, etc; I love spending time with animals so the more we can do together the better, even if that's just cuddling on the couch! I am happy to do a strolling pace around the neighborhood stopping to smell the best sniffs, or I am always up to set a quick focused pace! If you have a cat, I would love to know what their favorite way to receive affection is.
