When I heard about Rover I knew it was the perfect job for me. I am a dental student with a love of animals. My schedule allows me to come home at lunch everyday (I live three blocks from school) so I can take your dog out for a midday walk and give them some affection. In the evenings I am free to walk your dog to a nearby park and play fetch, explore, and even jog if they're interested in further exercise. I know from experience some dogs are timid, ill, or disinterested in the park experience, in that case I am happy to walk around the neighborhood at a leisurely pace or even carry them if need be. I grew up with small dogs, big dogs, and even a blind and nearly deaf dog. My love for dogs has led me to volunteer as a dog-walker and fundraiser at the animal shelter in the past. As a dog-walker I had the opportunity to work with all sorts of dogs; some that were eager to run and pulling on the leash and others that were hesitant to leave their bed. I learned to deal with both accordingly, whether that meant a firm grip and an Alpha mentality or a calm and patient approach. I can give a high energy dog the excercise and attention it needs and I can give a timid little home-body the lap and love that he deserves. You can trust that I will care for your dog as I would my own, compassionately and patiently. Caring for your dog is not work for me, it's something I enjoy. My apartment is small but safe and clean. Thus, I will absolutely take your dog out in the morning, lunch-hour, evening and night. I share my apartment with my elderly cat. She is comfortable around dogs but I would keep her in the bedroom when I am not home to supervise. Please contact me if you have any additional questions or concerns.
