Pet care experience
Hello :) I am home full-time and we have a Goldendoodle who loves having friends visit. Our yard has a low fence, so if you’ve got a jumper or escape artist, we probably aren’t a good fit :( I've had dogs my entire life and have worked in animal hospitals and shelters as well. I have younger kids (ages 7 and 9) who would love to help me care for your dog while you travel. We do have some minor allergies, so we prefer to only host low or non-shedding dogs. Your dog will be in their home-away-from-home when they stay with us! We've got lots of love and snuggles to give :) My Goldendoodle, Colby, 65 lbs, has tons of energy and loves to play with other pets and people. We also have an easy-going, outdoor cat, so I ask that your dog has experience being around cats and gets along with them. Our family would love to be of assistance for your dog while you travel. Please give us a shout and we can make sure you have piece-of-mind for your dog’s wellbeing during your next trip!

If I could give her a 0, I would. Please be aware of the terms of service before you book! If your dog is injured during their stay with a sitter and the sitter doesn't step up to the plate, Rover will do anything and everything to deny your claim. We're now sitting on a $1600 vet bill because my dog contracted cellulitis during his stay with Ellen. He went to her home as a perfectly healthy dog, and he almost died while in her care. My dog didn't get along with her cat. We specifically agreed that she would keep the cat in her finished basement for both of their safety. Thanks to the Vet's clinical notes, I found out that she didn't keep her word there. Did I mention that she left that part out and told us that the cat was in the basement the entire stay? Thank you for lying to me Ellen, and thank you for lying to Rover to cover yourself. Since Petsmart was my only other option, I figured that staying with Ellen would be the best bet. I wish I booked with Petsmart instead. I will never book with Rover again because of their terrible customer service and the fact that other people have had animals killed while in care of their sitters with no legal recourse. The only thing Ellen did right here was bringing my boy to the emergency vet so that he didn't end up like those other poor dogs.

We don’t leave pets outside unattended, and like to enjoy their company inside with us. If they are used to a kennel, I have one here they can borrow to sleep in, but usually they just sleep on a dog bed in my room.

Dogs need to be fully potty trained. We do have some allergies, so we ask for low- or non-shedding dogs. Crate trained dogs are preferred. MUST be ok with kids (ages 7 and 9), cats and other dogs. We also have a small fish pond in the backyard, so if your dog enjoys swimming, unfortunately they probably won’t be a good fit for me. My dog has never had interest in it, but a potential guest dog wanted to try it out, so it occurred to me that I better mention this on here ;)
A typical day
Your dog can cozy up on one of the dog beds, go for a walk on the leash, or maybe even enjoy a car ride, if that’s their thing :)
