I Love Them Like You Do 🐕 🐶 🐩
Pet care experience
Please understand I work twelve hour shifts 2-5 days a week so unfortunately I have to decline most of the requests I get. My sister Carolyn (in photo) lives here too and helps when I’m at work. Definitely a "crazy dog lady." I believe dogs are the best things on earth! Cats are second. I understand not only how hard it is to leave your dogs but how expensive it can be! I couldn’t afford most of the rates on here so I keep my rate at what I think is reasonable (Rover gets 20% & any fees) but your babies will get wonderful care and lots of love. I currently have two dog babies- a 17 year old female Bassett Hound mix-Jingles and a 7 year old male Beagle-Bailey. They’re the smallest dogs I’ve ever had. All my dogs have been rescues. I would NEVER buy or breed a dog but one of the fun things about working on Rover is caring for & getting to know so many different breeds. I adopted Jingles from the Guilford shelter 9 years ago and adopted Bailey (a foster fail-I couldn’t let him go) from the rescue I’ve volunteered with for many years-CrisisDogsNC. They're my babies and my best friends. My sister, who lives with me, also adopted a dog I was fostering for CrisisDogsNC. Her dog, Anthony, is about 7 and a chihuahua-whippet mix. He’s friendly & playful but will bark like a lunatic when you drop off and pick up 🤷🏻♀️🙄 Jingles, even at 17, is the boss here. She’ll make that known initially then calm down. Jingles likes to sit on the couch & be the queen. It’s typical dog behavior, especially for a female, but many people haven’t had a dog as alpha as Jingles is. Laid back dogs & puppies are the best fit. Jingles is only 35 pounds but, like I said, VERY ALPHA so if your dog likes to be the boss it’s NOT going to be a good fit. I wish I could accept every request but I have to do what’s right for both of our dogs. My yard is big, fun, & fenced but if your dog is an escape artist and is “born to run” and jump fences I’m not a good fit. I live 1.5 blocks from Wendover Ave and don’t want to risk it if there’s a good chance your baby will escape. I had a husky for 12 years and as great as they are I don’t feel comfortable watching them here. I've never met a dog I didn't fall in love with. I'll care for your babies with my whole heart. It’s hard to trust anyone else, let alone a stranger, with your dogs but I do this bc I love it! I’ll definitely fall in love with your dog while they’re here. I always send lots of photos and updates-at least 2-3 per day. I do work full time so my availability is limited. I can also do walks and drop in visits. I usually stay an hour per drop in.

Always amazing!!☺️
Ellen has watched our dog multiple times and always does a great job
Ellen is trustworthy, and my dog love her.
Ellen took excellent care of my baby Echo. She consistently sent updates and pics. Really put our mind at ease leaving him with someone for the first time. I would highly recommend her and would definitely use her again. Thank you so much for your love, time, and attention to my pet.

Information Ellen K. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog will try to escape & the best way to call them (what do you say and how do you say it). Any triggers, allergies, quirks, fears, loves would be great to know.
A typical day
Mostly I just want the dogs I care for to feel loved & happy. It’s always hard when they get dropped off & their mom &/or dad leaves but dogs are so adaptable. I make sure they get plenty of attention and affection throughout their stay. Every dog is different so just tell me what they like & I’ll do my best to make it happen As far as walks, it really depends on dog & neighborhood. I strongly believe that walks are happy time for them so I want them to stop & smell & enjoy their walk. It’s okay if your dog pulls. I’m used to it.
